Looks like they are expanding there line up of UK built frame with now a titanium hardtail. Looks identical to the Far East design but built right here.

Love the idea and the price sounds reasonable but seems very odd that given Titaniums reputation of being very hard to work with and weld that they are selling frames in July but the prototyping was only completed in June!

I really commend Stanton for doing UK built stuff!
Impressive that they do UK made hardtails, let sone Ti frame & FS bikes.
Sadly their stuff is otu of my budget at the moment, but they are high up the want list.

I think they’ve hired a welder from the aerospace industry, so hopefully he know’s what he needs to know.

And they have 3 Ti hardtail frames, last time I looked. More if you count different sizes…

I’m absolutely amazed people will pay well over the odds for something just because it’s made by a man in some shed with a cockahoop story attached to it in this country.

Head of engineering is called Jordan that should explain it. Who else had a rep for bringing things to market before they were tested and built.

I bumped into a chap whilst out riding a few weeks ago. He was riding a Stanton steel hard tail. We got chatting about it and he told me that he previously had one of their titanium hard tails which cracked in multiple places..he then swapped it for the steel version (warranty i think).

I am completely with Philx on this as it is a joke, most of that video story.

Depicts greed if you ask me!

They have been moving towards bringing manufacturing of both steel and Ti back to the UK for about a year, and the cost of a UK Ti frame now is exactly the same as the cost of an overseas made one was a year ago.

You pays your money and takes your choice.

I’ve got nothing but praise for all the guys at Stanton. Been riding one of their next gen hardtails for a few years now and also have a switchback full suss, which is the best bike I’ve ever ridden.

They’ve been amazing with me, can’t fault them at all.

If you think they’re too expensive just buy something else I guess.

Not sure how a semi custom geo, custom paint, custom add-ons and top end shock for £400 more than a mass produced alloy Specialized is considered well over the odds.

Where can I get something similar for considerably less?

I’ve had a Ti Stanton for about 5 years, given it plenty of stick and it’s held up just fine. Had a good chat with Dan before I put down the cash for it and he persuaded me they’d done their homework, wouldn’t expect any different when they are bringing manufacturing back to the UK.

I’ve had a couple of steel frames of theirs, and as above, I wouldn’t expect Dan and the guys at Stanton to make any hasty decisions; their current reputation, customer service and quality of products is too much to risk I think. I hope it goes well for them.

I really want a Sherpa to be my next bike, not sure I can stretch to the £1000 premium for Ti.

Seems a bit of a resurgence recently with ti.

Not looking for an argument as I genuinely wish Stanton well, but sonder offer their titanium frame (signal) for £1k, full build from £1,600 which is just ridiculous.

Ribble about to launch their ti hardtail too which reports suggest could be around £2k as a base build.

Stanton’s have always had a premium but people love them so as ever (and Pickle says above) you pay your money and make your choices. It’s all good.

Comparing Stanton to sick !! That’s a low blow.
