Quick question, anyone know the difference between GX eagle and X01 eagle jockey wheels?

Purely anecdotally, i’ve had GX eagle mechs in the past and had to replace the jockey wheels every 500-800 miles, and the new bike came with an X01 mech where they’ve lasted more 1500 miles before only now getting a bit ropey.

However they’re over twice as much to buy, anyone aware of the difference (bearing quality?) or was I just lucky with the last set.

Just change the bearings, my 11 speed x01 are still going at 6k . Number is on seal of bearing , mine are 626 2rs and £9 for 10 on ebay.  Pack full of waterproof grease before fitting. A little patience is needed getting bearing square in jockey wheel but pretty simple really.

Yep likewise, the actual wheels last really well but the bearings aren’t amazing.

Dont even bother to change the bearings

Pop off the rubber seals and you will find the bearing cage is rubber, pop this out thus leaving the ball bearings in situ

Clean the bearings in isopropyl alcohol, allow to dry or use a comperssor, repeat for the rubber bearing cage, refit the cage to the bearings, regrease and refit the rubber seals

Been doing this for years with Sram jockey wheels

Mine have just siezed solid after 250 mls then 3 months in the workshop waiting for bike to get a new battery.

I popped bearings out easy enough but the jockey wheels are soft as cheese and theres a small lip that sits proud of the outer race so deforms with bearings being pressed in. Made getting bearing sit 100% spot on a right faff and even now there’s still a slight wobble. With 12sp being finicky enough I’m not doing the replace bearing in swiss cheese again.

better off doing as escrs says and service the bearing. Much simpler.

or get some after market ones that are designed to have bearings swapped.

there is no different, if you ready in to it, then its all about the bearings over bushes.
