  • SRAM 11spd cassette top sprocket replacement…?

I know we’ve all been on 12spd for half a decade or more now, but I have a SRAM X01 11spd setup sat spare and a bike to put it on… The issue is that the X01 XG1195 11spd cassette has done maybe 3000 miles or so, but given that I changed chains religiously @ 0.75% stretch, it had 5 of them and the steel part of the cassette is in pretty good order (it’d work ok with a new chain, if not quite as well as new)…

The alloy 42T cog is however, pretty shagged!

I remember many years ago, Oneup components used to make this…

    44T X-Cog Sprocket [ Sram 1×11 ]

It’s no longer on their current website…

I believe Wolftooth made something similar… But can’t find it.

Does anybody still make anything like this? Ideally a 44T, but even a replacement 42T stock size would be great. The bike will be light anyway so prefer to use my old 11spd stuff rather than have to buy some new 12spd stuff for it if possible, but I need to change the top cog on the cassette otherwise it’s a non starter really…

Or maybe there’s someone out there with a worn out 11spd SRAM X01 XG1195 cassette, but they’ve worn the lower steel cogs out, and not touched the top cog…? 🤔

Erm … I genuinely didn’t know you could replace a cog on an XD cassette.
That’s why i use HG stuff to be honest, cos i wear through the bottom two on my commuter and can replace them for pennies.

I’ve got one I took off a SRAM cassette a few years ago and saved if you want to make a offer? I can’t remember what led to the need to chuck the rest of it but it’s in vgc.

This is something I was interested in when I had 11 speed (currently 12 spd) but couldn’t find an answer. I rode my bike with a worn aluminium sprocket for ages until I discovered SRAM had eventually released the XG-1150 to market with a full set of steel sprockets.

My suggestion would be to buy one of those now…get it from eBay or Onbuy.com, there it’s around 90 quid which is not much more than it cost me three or four years ago. The smaller sprockets wear quicker and then you’ll be left with a barely worn steel large sprocket which you can then (possibly) transfer to your old XG-1195 that you’ll have laying about.

Alternatively you could try these guys who are in Italy:
