Hi guys, I’m after some pointers. My current employment doesn’t offer any ability to earn any overtime, however I can do evenings and or weekend work privately. Either contributing to a wider team effort, independantly or providing support.

Does anyone have any pointers where to pick up private small contracts or overtime in this specialism.

Are you desperate to work extra hours doing the same thing? I’m a software developer for a living and frankly 39 hours a week is plenty. If I needed to earn extra money I’d be tempted to try something different e.g bar work or perhaps retail

    Thanks I’ll check out freelancer.

john_drummer – I’m keen to do hours earning at my professional rate, retail just wouldn’t cut it plus I need flexibility which is one of the big advantages with what I’m looking for

Same here -You need some ‘downtime’ getting too involved with other projects can end up impacting on your bread and butter day job.

You may also need to inform you employer of you intentions as it could be seen as a conflict of interest.
