Have a 93 or 94 (not entirely sure) Patriot I have repsrayed and am in the middle of building up for some single track hammering after 13 years away from biking!

Show me what you got to keep me going the next week or two while I wait for bits.

I didn’t realise patriots went back that far? I had a 2004 Patriot, but I need to get my self sorted out and learn how to post pictures!

They didn’t go back that far! The oldest was about ’98. Prior to that it was the Mr O and UFO (URT rear end)

    You must mean 2003/4?

Sorry yes – 03/04 – was half asleep when typing!

Got my decals on it and on it’s way to being rideable. Hoping to be out on a week on Sunday. Will take pics and load them up…..

Two cracking shots so far – I got to say I love these bikes. Just simple, solid engineering.

Orange have a habit of creating, retiring and bringing back legendary names – with the Pat now gone I wonder if it will ever resurface as a ltd ed in 10 years time?? 🙂

The 5 and the 224 Evo are basically the Patriot aren’t they just under a different name. I reckon the name will pop up again though – they’ve been a pretty great bike for a long time….

the 5 is a lot lighter than a Patriot isn’t it? With the alpine 160 the patriot will be a little redundant this year I guess

dunno about that? 5 isn’t that much lighter… but more XC spec/ geomotry… 224 is quite different as well… same platform though. Lovely bikes!

yeah, a mates got a 5 with 36 talas/cross max/hope etc and its very nice and very light compared to my enduro. Have been wondering about an Alpine 160, but there is so much out there now. Hard to decide what to wish for 😉
