Has anybody tried one? I know Cotic recommend 60-90mm stems on the Solaris, but just wondering how it copes with a more fashionable length.

Not the exact answer you want but mine feels perfectly nice with a 50mm.

Have mine with 50mm stem and run forks at 120mm and like it that way.

50mm here, on a medium Niner.
Looking around for a 70mm x 35deg, to change too.
    Fashion…pah.

60mm here, with 720mm bars and forks at 120mm. To be honest, it rides so well that I’d be nervous about messing with it. However, I can’t really see why it wouldn’t work with a shorter stem. If the bars were a bit wider (or a bit lower) then the weight balance could be exactly the same when seated, which takes care of climbing for me. Standing up (i.e. descending) I’d be a bit further back, which should aid confidence and make it a bit easier to lift the front wheel.

Isn’t that the logic behind forward geometry?
