how tuneable is this motor in terms of assist?

Is it always 3 levels on the trails but you can adjust eco to be say 20 percent of total assist power?

I’ve seen the brose motor can be put in a mode where you select the power based on a percentage of assist and wondered if you can achieve similar the ep800 (not the 801)

If you use the Shimano Steps app you can adjust the level of assistance in all 3 modes, you can also adjust how the assistance kicks in. And iirc you can adjust the amount of over run on the motor.

I use it as it came . Had it for a year and it’s faultless

Same as @jedi , mines the detuned motor on an Orbea Rise , does what I want it to do . I was tempted to tinker until one day when I tried to download an update through the App lost the Bluetooth connection and it shuts down ! Didn’t just go back to the old setting meaning a trip to LBS to get it sorted.

Follow their advice now if it’s working ok leave it alone ! Might be my old Android phone but I just wait until I need something done on the bike then just get them to plug it in and check for updates.

    There’s 2 profiles, each with 3 modes. Eco/Trail/Boost.

For each profile, you can set the max power per mode. Shimano use nM to set the assistance. Min is 20nM, max will be be 85nM.

You can also set the start up which is how aggressively the power kicks in and the assist characteristic which is basically how hard you have to work to achieve the power.

Setting the start up to a high number is perfect for flipping you off the back in steep climbs lol. Setting the characteristic to a low nunber means you’re working harder for the same amount of assistance. Setting it to a higher nunber makes it easier to achieve maximum power.

The 2 profile thing means you can set 2 different versions of eco/trail/boost. It’s handy once you’ve got used to the bike and sometimes feel like you need an inbetween setting where Eco isn’t enough but trail feels like too much.

But yeah, when you’re out riding you choose whichever mode you want. There’s no adaptive power setting that varies it as you ride.
