PSA. Shimano Deore brake set

Now I’ve got these ready to go, I’m thinking about putting them on my Pompetamine as I ride it all the time, and shifting the brakes that are on that onto my MTB instead.

Question – the hose lengths on the Pomp are right, but unlikely to suit the MTB. How hard would it be to reuse the Pomp hoses on the Deore brakes, and move and trim the new hoses onto the old brakes for the MTB?

I’m thinking it shouldn’t be too difficult, but practical input would be appreciated. Take it I’ll need to have some mineral oil on hand to top up levels once hoses are all in place?

brilliant little tool, one of those “I wish I’d found it earlier”. Faff free insertion and it means you don’t lose all the fluid trying to hold the hose and jam the insert in.

Cheers for the PSA, I ordered a set from Ribble for just over £62 on Sunday. The Mrs is hoping they’ll be here for the weekend as their destined for her bike to replace the hateful Juicy 3’s that she’s currently using 🙂

My key motivation was also to ditch Avid brakes from my life – big S all the way as far as I’m concerned!

Just got mine… hrm, packed in cardboard with mounts (which I didn’t expect!) but no olive/barb! Fine, I’ve got spare olives etc, just a bit different 🙂

These brakes are now happily fitted to the Pompetamine and very nice they are too. Might just get some more of these for the MTB and sell the old XTs! Back in stock at Merlin again…
