Anyone know if this will work? I accidentally mixed up an order for a SLX 11 speed group set and ended up with an 11 speed cassette and 12 speed chain.

The internet says this isnt an issue for SRAM, but have Shimano changed the chain inner dimensions when they went to 12 speed?

    Thanks

Why …? Unless you must ride today… send it back and get a 11sp chain.
I usually use SRAM PC1110 as they are cheap as chips (<£10) and I’m not bothered about the 50g or whatever difference on my XT/SLX 11sp.
After that the whole 12sp stuff makes it all a bit hit and miss though I’d say Shimano->SRAM would be more problematic than the other way.

Most chainrings don’t play nicely with the quicklink that comes with Shimano 12 speed chains.

Trying to avoid spending £6 on a return, arranging another delivery, waiting a week for the 1 speed chain blah blah blah…

I’d use a 11 or 10 speed link (been using 10 speed SRAM ones on 11 speed for years)

It might be a problem with thick/thin rings but I run a 12s XTR chain on my 11s road bike as it’s more quiet than the 11s version, no shifting problems either.
