Gutted to see this, just as the new bike trails are built 🙁 I imagine the trails will be fine, just a shame to see the building trashed 🙁

That really is a pity. 🙁

On the one hand not great, but on the other could be good for the slope (maybe…). Lets be honest, the main slope/snowflex jump area is completely worn out, which is probably why the slope isn’t the hive of activity it used to be. Hopefully they’ll be able to divert some of the insurance money (assuming they get any) to where it’s needed. 🙂

I know, but you never know. Maybe some of the cinders will cause some singeing on the slope 🙂

to be honest Bevel that’s a cr*p attitude to have, yes some of the place needed updating etc but we were there saturday for my daughters party and it was a great laugh. like i say there were things that could have been better but there are now going to be a load of staff out of a job, loads of parties without a venue, loads of schools and youth groups without a destination and oh did i mention a load of people without jobs.
it’s a real shame and i for one hope it rises up pheonix like. fingers crossed for the insurance company.

What is it with these places? Beckton Alps, Wycombe Summit and now Sheff. Ski Village.

From what I recall the place was on its knees anyway, not sure if it’s recovered since then though. Not saying it’s not a great place to go and have fun, skiing’s more about the people than the place for me. I didn’t make this happen, nor wish it to, but I think the correct attitude is to look for opportunities when things like this happen.

Well we were there Saturday and the car park was full, there must have been 2 to 3 hundred people there, bowling skiing or boarding oh and spending money.
    Each to their own.

I can seee Bevel’s point of view.

The best thing to happen to the centre of Manchester was an IRA bomb.

    Every cloud… etc.

Mmm let’s see a major city centre ruined by terrorists or a privately run business ruined by fire, now which are the government going to be interested in funding…….

think the main thing, aside from all this bravado and crap talking…

is that this kind of arson is indicative of scally **** flitting round our fair city and setting fire to stuff.

now i personally wouldn’t want to hang round the back of rutland road area in the early hours of a sunday morning, but it’s still depressing to see this shit go on.

One of the non-white elephants in the city – had some great times there with friends and family.

Feel sorry for the people working there, always seemed to be a nice bunch.

not wanting to sound cynical but it is a blatant insurance fraud.

Apparentley the best way to do an Ins job,is to tie an oily rag to a rats tail, then light it,so when the fire/Ins investigator comes,he cant tell tell wtf the fire started as theres loads of little ones…..so i was told 😉
