Sheffield clubs & regular rides

I'd be up for a ride on 28/29 Nov or 4/5 Dec, Sheffield or Peaks.

For those interested in the http://www.sheffieldfridaynightride.org.uk/ group, I made it out for a ride with them in the summer. It was good fun, a really mixed group on all kinds of bikes. The route was mostly on road with a few woodland trails to link things up. Went from the city centre up to Wincobank to watch the sunset with a beer or champagne at the top of the hill. It took me through some bits of Sheffield I'd never seen before and the guy leading the ride had plenty of interesting bits of information on local history etc. Ended up at the Fat Cat for a couple of beers and then home. Nice way to spend a Friday evening.

Sheffrec.cc? They do have mtb rides. I'm a member but I only go out with them on my road bike.

er, Chris and I thought Wharncliffe might be a bit too damp so figured some where else might be better. He suggested the Walkley trails at 10.30…

Pook – Dunno' yet. A consensus will emerge. There's mjb, BadlyWiredDog and me from here, and maybe one or two from BM.

Last week we did: Hope, Roman Road, Hope Cross, Jaggers, up the road to Edale, Hollins Cross, round the back of Mam-Tor, Dirtlow Rake, Pindale and back to Hope.

The week before we did: Hope, Roman Road, Hope Brinks, Forestry track down to Ladybower, across the dam, Whinstone Lee Tor, down to the reservoir, back across the dam and then back to Hope via the lanes.

Basically as far as two or two and a half hours gets us.

right o – I'll let you know tomorrow, but will be out one day if not there then!

No worries Pook. It's Hope every Thursday at 19:00hrs all through the Winter until the clocks change.

I'm going to try and get along to a few of these…! just can't do the next couple of weeks, but after that…

wincobank's on a grassy slope really? isnt it?

having worked up wincobank I'd happily say its on a hill, maybe not as big / steep as anything off Rivelin valley but its still a hill.

DWH – what kind of mileage is that? i fancy it but i'm slow and lazy

Ride up Jenkin Road from Brightside to the top of Wincobank – there are few more comedy steep hills in the city 🙂
