Business is going slowly and the future doesn’t look good so I need to find something else to keep us going.
But we’ve just had a great weekend by the sea, the sun is shining, we’re all well. Plus my brother in law has just told me he’s set up and account to pay for my two 10yo daughters future education – amazing!

Okay, here’s one that started out as a sad life story – actually I had a glorious life that then took a turn for the shitty when my husband Julian got ill and died in June last year.
At the time I thought life would never be good again and I definitely wasn’t EVER going to get involved with anyone ever again because if you fall in love there is the potential for it to hurt – a LOT!

Well, as it happens I did ‘kind of accidentally’ meet someone and he is a really nice guy, he respects my husband and the life I had with him yet treats me as an individual (which I think could have been tricky if it had been someone that knew J personally) and is generally a top bloke.
So despite thinking you only got one shot at being happy I have been proved wrong and I couldn’t be more glad about that. I reckon that’s fairly good news and pretty life affirming. 🙂

Been on three rides this week with my 11 year old son, who really hates bike rides 😀

@ teasel – that’s really interesting and thank you for posting. You’ve been so lucky to have that experience and I must say I was a tad concerned that you didn’t pay any attention to his tusks when feeding!

Deer are such beautiful creatures (I’m very interested in them) and am afraid that all I see these days is roe. Not complaining cos they are the most loveliest. 🙂

I do hope you continue to enjoy his friendship and would love to hear more tales. 8)

Chuckling at the tusk comment – he’s easily spooked, even by me. I doubt very much that he’d spike the hand that feeds him! 🙂

TBH, I reckon he only visits because he’s getting old and the orchard produced very little fruit this year, but we’ll see; anymore really cold winters may well finish him off. If you’re genuinely interested, I can email you some links in a week or so when I upload a few more vids and pics.

IIRC you’re a London lass, aren’t you…? We’re just down the road from Camerons gaff if you want to pay us a visit in the summer and get up-close to the deer yourself. We’ve a few roe deer, too, but they’re a lot more camera shy.

    non-weaning offspring

What I meant was non-suckling; weaned off etc.

Anyway, sorry for the thread hijack, guys. I’ll leave it there…
