Rob Warner used to come in to the bike shop I was at in the mid 90s. I don’t think Giant supplied him with tubes.

I then bumped into him at a club I ran the bar in. He introduced me to Peaty who I hadny heard of in 1996. Gave them free beers, which they didn’t seem to mind!

I met Rubens barricello in Florida at Busch gardens. He was in a cafe having a pie. Don’t think he drove a diesel!. Had a pee next to Ian Gillan ( deep purple singer for you young uns)at services on m1 about twenty five years ago , he dudnt wash his hands ,and finally I bumped into Ronaldo ( Brazilian not Portuguese) in Madrid airport last year.

A guy I’m on a training course with this week is good friends with Danny Mac.
He (not Danny, the guy on the course) works in the oil & gas industry so there’s a diesel connection too.

I got interviewed by Michaela Strachan once for the Really Wild Show, saw a very drunk Michael Gambon in Aldeburgh, and Oli Beckingsale sends me a spreadsheet every month which will supposedly help make me winning-er.

And the new T5 is a diesel!

I saw Steve Peat whilst they were filming the Stigmata video, I can even tell you when in the video I was stood behind the camera! Disappointingly, I’d don’t recognise him in a helmet, hood and beard :'(

I once walked Goldie -not the West Country jungle don with limited acting abilities.

I worked in a building where Goldie the jungle don was filming a TV programme and briefly spoke to him. He was mildly sleazy with some teenage girls.

Former Man Utd footballer Brian McClair is a distant relation, but we fell out with that side of the family.

I once served Bob Crampsey with 3 Star petrol (yes, it was a long time ago).
He was a bit miffed as I gave him the more expensive of the two 3 Star options.
He did not drive a diesel – mind you, hardly anyone did back then.

I saw Vin Diesel in a fillum with lots of cars. He was the only diesel though. And they never seemed to go to a filling station.

I met Nick Craig and his son twice in one holiday in Wales, the second time at Nant Y Arian. We chatted for a while but I didn’t let on I knew who he was. He definitely is the nicest man in mountain biking and possibly outside of it too.

Our conversation then moved to our favourite accountancy firms and stevestunts plumped for Cox, Cox and Moorecox. Diesel – like a loco.

Plane wasn’t powered by diesel though.

Might as well be… Jet A1 is very similar to diesel.

Caddied for my uncle when he was playing in a pro-am match. We had to stop at kingspark to pick up Kenny Daglish(33years ago),just the three of us in the car and then I found out we were in the same fourball followed the whole course by fans and the papers, when we finished he asked me to go to the car and get his football boots so I put them on and ran around the carpark. Was waiting to use the toilets in a pub called Buzzy Wares in Glasgow and out walked a famous footballer and another guy rubbing their teeth then their nose. The footballer was famous for the quote “where’s the burds”

The short one from from Ant & Dec walked past me last night on my way home from work

What? One his own, without the other one? Photo or it didn’t happen.

I’ve had lunch with Clive Dunn. Back in those days not even trains ran on diesel.

This could be a long list:

Used to work in Monmouth and regularly saw various musicians in town who were recording in nearby Rockfield Studios. Best was going into the chippy by the bridge at lunchtime and it took me a few second to realise Dave Grohl was in the queue in front of me!

My dad’s local drinking hole is well-used by famous people who are staying in the area as it’s discreet about it’s guests. The wall is plastered with pictures and autographs of various guests (mainly theatre and opera-types). Was there a few months ago with my dad and as we walked in he said “Oh J-something’s still here, his car’s over there.” New Ferrari, owned by Jay K. He was at the bar. Also had Robbie Williams walk my mate’s sister home from there one evening as he was bored of all the screaming girls camped outside. He was a real gent apparently.

Had the whole Top Gear crew (presenters and about 20 crew) turn up at the bottom of my mate’s drive a few years ago. They were in the area filming the Off-road Invalid Carriage episode and the fields they mucked about in are below his parent’s house.

Spent a night getting very drunk (together with the rest of the pub) with Damon Hill in another pub near my parents.

Served Eddie Butler in one job and Joe Calzaghie in another. Worked in a theatre bar and served loads of comedians.

Oh and I’ve seen Manon Carpenter in Tesco’s in Caerphilly. Also Morrisons. And been made to look ridiculously slow at BPW by her 😆

I met the 1995 Manchester united team at the batman forever premier.
The following year I walked past Noel Gallagher on wardor street in that London. The guy I was with was a massive oasis fan but didn’t notice him. I told him about 10mins later and I really thought he meant me physical harm. He was not at all happy.

I also once saw matt allwright off of watch dog in waitrose in Wokingham. He seemed to be dressed as Rupert bear/a ****.

    Well if we’re getting serious.
Muhammad Ali in Saxton Rd, Abingdon. He visited several times to meet Paddy who ran his fan club. Mr T as his bodyguard on the visit I saw.
Neil Young in The Fitzharris Arms, Abingdon. Now a Tesco. (The pub that is). And on the final night of the pub being open there was a bit of a party and the guy who had previously taken Neil to the pub handed me a phone and say “Say Hi to Steve…” Which is how I ended up having a very strange chat with an equally bemused Steven Tyler who sympathised with the fact our local ‘bar’ was closing.
