Hi all – I am thinking of moving to a house that has a big attached garage (tandem one) but the roof looks a bit cack, it might need replacing. It is 25 by 11 feet and the pitch isnt that steep, at a guess maybe 20-25 degrees?

What sort of options are there for easy to install tiles? Looks like they’d need to be a flattish profile and grey in colour. Any idea on price for a roof like that?

Have a look at Marley Modern tiles. They are very easy to install.

Pay attention to minim pitch, if your roof is low pitch it will effect your options. The manufacures state this on a datasheet somewhere usualy.

The Marley ones look ok, but daunting thinking about doing it myself!

No experience of them, but Onduline have tiles called Onduvilla. They’re bitumen impregnated resin fibre things, but seem to have long warranty.

Does it have to be tiles?

Check out EPDM roofing. Basically a big sheet of rubber glued in place. No seams and not easy leak points. Easy to lay and 30-35 year guarantees.

Used it on my cabin roof which is 4.8m x 7.2m and it was easy to fit

Our roofer is using Marley Eternit Thrutone, several colours inc. graphite and zinc-grey, 100% recyclable and similar in appearance to a large but thin slate. They will hang from vertically to as low as 15 degrees

The website has various downloadable drawings and accessory options for different situations

Make sure that your roof structure will take the weight (+ snow, etc) of whatever you choose

I’d second the EPDM route. Did a large double garage flat roof in this and was simple to do, even though the roll of the stuff is heavy. Fit and forget, though not sure if it works on pitched.

I’ll 3rd EPDM. Its dead easy to fit and has a very long life.
