I am still off them DD!

Just over 18 months now. I still get the odd craving, but they are very few and far between and pass very quickly.

Glad to see that you are doing well 🙂

thanks deadlydarcy 😀 to be honest i have been lucky and found it relatively easy to quit (i was addicted to both drugs, and knew that i was on a downward spiral) although my life is far from a happy one (suffer with depression/anxiety issues) i do feel thankful that i quit them both.i wish you all well in beating the smoking.you will feel better believe me 😉 good luck 🙂

    You are now 🙂

Sorry, I just went back to my old thread about it and picked off a few names from the last page or two.

I quit January 2010 for the first time in my adult life after 25 years of daily smoking.. then started again in June 2010.. 😡

I quit again earlier this year the next morning after a ride with Sharki and Trailmonkey made me realise that a quick smoke before a sharp climb was going to kill me one day..

Unfortunately I started again during a heavy night on the sauce but have managed to quickly cut down and quit again and I’ve now been nicotine free for two weeks..
I’m not going back to it as I’ve noticed with all the stop/starting that’s gone on just how poisoned I feel after a smoke..
I really missed it earlier today for 10 minutes or so..

had quit for two years near enough then broke my wrist earlier this year then got back on them but time to quit again now

Yup, still get this! 😐 Wonder when it will stop.

Been there, done that (without the broken wrists) but good stuff for deciding to quit again. Never quit quitting.

binners is still smoking or was when i saw him – i still scrounged one but dont smoke if that makes sense.
think the craving never stops it just gets longer between them not really had anything for a few years tbh and even though i have the odd one I hate the smell.

yunki you have the right attitude and will crack it soon I am sure of it.

The stop/starting does make you feel horrible. I still drink a lot (I have cut down this year though) and I I am beginning to find hangovers make me feel “poisoned” as well. It’s not very pleasant is it?

No wonder everything is his fault.

No, more like “give me a faaaaaaaggggg, oh, go on, give us one….”

that sort of whinging. 😳 😆

A pouch of Cutters Choice, your choice of colour rizzla and a pack of menthol filters because tobacco taste is always nicer with a hint of mint.

EDIT: Is binners still on the Capstan?

hmm.. I know that feeling very well..

I stopped regular drinking to excess about 5 years ago after a bout of broken bones from drunken falls, terrible problems with my digestion and bowel, decreased liver function, alcohol withdrawal and fits.. the poisoned feeling I was starting to get from drinking was foul..

Funny that I used to think of myself as invincible once.. I now drink in moderation a handful of times per year..

I miss the alcoholic life every single day
    (EDIT: nearly every single day)

    regular filters please

Sorry, competition rules state that filters must be menthol. 😐 Stop taking the piss. 🙂

Had a few drags on some magic ones whilst at Notting Hill Carnival… mixing with the natives if you like.

Other than that, don’t miss ’em at all.

Smoked four times this year so probably totalling around eighty fags for the nine months so far. Only smoke when I drink and my ale intake this year has been none existent, been on the lash four times. I feel really good for it as well. Never had a problem quitting but still like a good p!ss up and a tab. Can’t beat it.

    Mmmmmm ale and tabs.

This wasn’t the first time I tried to quit, but every other time I knew I was going to smoke again. This time I knew I wasn’t.

I even tried to start smoking again much earlier this year, met up with an old friend who smoked. Rolled and sparked 5+ fags and never had more than a couple of drags on any of them. |Seemed so disgusting and alien.
