Replacement Suitcase Locks

I’ve an old(ish) hard sided Delsey case which has built in locks but they’re not TSA compliant, largely due to my having bought it in 1997.

Can anyone recommend a place where I can get a pair of replacement TSA locks for it?

Leave it unlocked? You can open TSA-approved Travel Sentry locks with a broken biscuit or a hard stare, so you might as well. The only advantage for the consumer is that you can tell if they’ve been opened, but that mechanism is less reliable than Northern Rail. I have one that permanently shows “tampered” after a fall of about a foot.

Wrap a strap around it and lock that if it falling open is a risk.

Think that’s probably what I’ll do.  Seems pretty secure with it just clipped shut.  Would have been nice to have fitted new locks if they were available but seems that its not a thing that exists.

I have never locked a suitcase.  Anything I don’t want stolen goes in the carry on.  A bright strap helps picking it out at recovery as well as making sure it doesn’t pop open.

Probably worthwhile. I was once working airside at Prestwick and saw baggage handlers unloading a flatbed truck. Method – walk to edge of flatbed, drop cases from waist height to tarmac. Total drop 9 or 10 feet?
