The only time measure i have is if i managed to complete all the relevant tasks this quarter/this year or not. Though if i finish them *really* quickly, i do tend to go and pick something else up as well. Helps that a) the jobs actually interesting b) my manager gives me *loads* of freedom to do what i want, when i want and c) i get paid well.
My manager decided that the one and only metric for our team should be hours spent, despite my numerous protests that hours had no relation to value, and that such a metric just encourages and rewards busy work. Anyway, I’m leaving that team.
