oh, to take the good lady to for a night or two.
Stirling
UK? Edinburgh, York, Cardiff?
Budget? Flight or not?
Flying? Barcelona, Munich or Amsterdam
Not flying - Bath, Salisbury, Oxford.
Ambleside?
Croydon
Bath.
Wakey 😀
Oh, and Chagford, in Dartmoor.
My favourite place ever.
Birmingham, the city of kings
Winchester.
Edinburgh
Depends where you live!
OXford, Cardiff, York, Edinburgh, Cambridge guess it also depends what you want!
Wakey
forking hell............spent 25yrs trying to escape from it.... 😀
stratford upon avon - has loads of character, lots of little alleyways with antiquey type shops and craft shops that women love, a huge theatre, well several actually, a butterfly house, loads of very nice restaurants and hotels and is very well served by the motorways.
Alnwick.
I live there what could be better.
Milton Keynes. .....
Arundel, West Sussex
Milton Keynes. .....
Belper?
Brighton?
been to Alnwick, nice but too small
fancied Edinburgh, can go on the train too, so easy
been to Barcelona twice, ace but not again
some of the others sound a bit too posh for me to be honest.. 😐
Is this a follow up to the "how regularly do you get it?" thread?
Doh double post!
Or possibly Cambridge. Like Cambridge in the summer though.
Chester,
Loved Liverpool
York
One night in exeter, one night in chagford. Best bits of devon (apart from all the other ace bits)
Whitstable
Oxford
York
Ludlow
Exeter
Ludlow
Aldeburgh, Suffolk. I hear it's nice there but a long way from most other places.
'tis small that's why I like it.
Durham
I'd second Arundel, nice place, you'll get bored in about 3 hours but then you have all the stunning countryside around it to look at, or the inside of your hotel room ( cough )
Chichester is another place.
Ironbridge.
Is this a follow up to the "how regularly do you get it?" thread?
yeah to quell her appetite....she looked over my shoulder while i was reading the post....so if i take her somewhere with loads of boozers, i can get her drunk and escape her sexual pestering.
Heidelberg
Bruges
some of the others sound a bit too posh for me to be honest
Don't be a silly Hector!
If I can go for a night out in the Toon, you can damned well go to Bath and sup ale at the Raven or the Salamander.
You could also have a grand time drinking in the Bear (Don't wear your club tie, though, I doubt that club is in the collection!) or the Bird & Baby in Oxford. And, if you find yourself in Salisbury, let me know, old chap, let me know!
Durham if you like old streets, cathedrals and a nice river.
Beijing. Nice to wander round if you like interesting/old/new stuff; lots of good places to eat. Not many pubs though and the beer seems to be uniformly bland.
some of the others sound a bit too posh for me to be honest
In that case how about Bolton, Luton or Dudley?
Durham.
One night in exeter, one night in chagford. Best bits of devon (apart from all the other ace bits)
See? Two votes for Chagford!
And Flashy is bob on with the Salamander in Bath - it's not the slightest bit posh, it just has lots of lovely, lovely ale.
when i said posh, i was thinking Brum and wakey.... 😆
quite like the idea of Bath or Stratford.
Come to Brizzle for some pieminster fist pie ton. 🙂
I'll show your missus around while you sort some of the locals out.
Perth or Glasgow
..so if i take her somewhere with loads of boozers
Belfast - cheap, lots of pubs, great food and plenty to see for a couple of days. Small enough to walk round.
ton - get in amongst it at Bath, few nice shlerpers in the various quality hostelries, plenty of sights and stuff to do and then find a nice tea-room for a cream tea. You'll love it, even if you're rough as r-soles (it's not that posh) 😀
or Brizzle as DD said.
I'll show your missus [s]around[/s] my heated wing mirrors while you sort some of the locals out.
Brizzle's a nice place, it must be said! Not as nice as Bath, though!
somewhere with loads of boozers
That would be Marlborough then. Lovely little town, glorious countryside surrounding it and lots, and lots of pubs! The Lamb on the Parade is the pick, 6X tapped straight from the wood. Lovely pub.
Flash, i might even come down to 'that there London', and you can show me round some nice pubs.
if you fancy, that is.
Cork's nice.
Durham's lovely.
But she really wants you to take her to Paris.
They all do, it's hardwired.
Ton, if you do, there's a pint on me for you. Let me know. Ditto re Salisbury.
Belfast - cheap, lots of pubs, great food and plenty to see for a couple of days. Small enough to walk round.
The evening entertainment is quite lively at the mo too.
Madrid's good for a weekend, not so good (from a tourist point of view) for much longer. Seville and Granada are also good for long weekends.
The evening entertainment is quite lively at the mo too.
yep-- bring yer own flag for extra fun 😯
Den Hague.
I loved Amsterdam when I lived there.. Get past all the usual sights, & you'll find some awesome parks, beautiful architecture, & great places to eat and, well, just enjoy it all.
wrightyson - if you were being serious about Belper, I'm coming over there to give you a slap!
Not Reading.
Annecy or Winchester... i cant decide
Not Reading.
I struggle with long sentences? 🙂
shudders.....Wakey
Newcastle? Loads to do in a city that isn't too big so you can get around it.
Plenty of good walking and exploring around Bath, and loads of good pubs and eateries; more eateries than you could reasonably expect to sample in a weekend. The Raven's good in the center, and if you go for a wander over to Victoria Park, look for St James's Wine Vaults just off Julian Road in St James's Street. Lovely cosy little pub, proper local with a great atmosphere and good beer. I have a good friend lives in Bath, and it's our 'local' when I go down to see her. She only lives about ten minutes away, so it is local.
Lovely walks through Sidney Gardens up to the Canal, and you can then walk back down to Widdcombe, and along the river past the Rec to Pulteney Weir. Bath's blessed by the fact it's a very small city, so quite easy to cover most of it easily in a weekend.
The evening entertainment is quite lively at the mo too.
Ah you'd be grand
Cardiff. Bring me a new burglar alarm and I'll show you round.

Oh, and Chagford, in Dartmoor. My favourite place ever.
:
I work there and live nearby. Should point out that lovely as it is it really isn't going to be troubling places like Barcelona and Prague as a chic city break destination - Dartmoor is however a fantastic place to spend a weekend anytime of the year if you like the outdoors, big landscapes and country pubs etc..
Bilbao, San Sebastian, Madrid, Valencia, Bruges, Leuven, Cologne, Amsterdam, Lisbon - to name a few.
Durham
Boozers? Edinburgh. And I'm in.
Bath. Even got a bath on a rooftop, pretty nice, even in November. Pub just across the way called Market place? does really good pizza. We stayed on a canal boat whilst there too for something different, pretty cheap too.
Chester,
Nice walk around the walls, stop for a nice meal at a 'brunning & price' pub, some b&b's to stay in, and shops for the lady.
If you're interested in Edinburgh, do it now before the hordes arrive

Lots of votes for Durham.
& I know why. (but it's not JUST cos I'm from there) 😆
Bristol.
Big shops, independent shops, fancy hotels, boutique hotels, restaurants of all shapes and sizes. Great place all the amenities of a big city but on a pedestrian scale.
York
Bath
London
Cambridge
Norwich
Liverpool
Not really in any order.
Bath or Brighton.
Vancouver
Bristol.
Only leave the bike at home, case it gets pinched!
No, not Bristol. Unless you like hunting for gargoyles in back streets.
Harrogate
Middlesbrough, and if you have a nice bike, bring it and we'll look after it for you. 😈
Tallinn.. Old town is beautiful, cheap flights from uk and the cakes are very nice.
