If you have a clear sky tonight, get out around 9pm and have a look at the moon. There's a lovely alignment with Mars.

Nice. I'll try and take the wee one outside for a peek before she goes to bed.

Cheers for the tip. Mrs. Willard is always on at me to do a bit more stargazing with her.

As a bonus, Mars will be just to the left of the moon tonight. Look for the reddish, star-like object.

Looking good over the Forth, clear skies and Mars is looking red.

It does look pretty, but I can't quite resist being utterly pedantic. This place must be getting to me.

They're 2 points. They're always going to be aligned, or not. Unless they're both aligned with something else?

Thanks for posting this druidh – we're well chuffed with how bright Mars is tonight. And the wolf moon is utterly beautiful. I had a moon shadow at 5:45 tonight 🙂

Not a great picture, but the view from our room tonight.

Mars just left of the chimney.

My digicam autofocus won't settle on a sharp image when it's strapped to the end of a telescope and it was cloudy by the time Mars was near enough to the moon to get a decent picture. This was about the best I managed…..

Do you and your family all live in one room then? Crikey, it's grim up North 😉

I love feeling this small – in an existentialist/cosmic kinda way, and not 'cos it's so cold!

Fantastic moon coming out of Bath tonight. Coming along the Lower Bristol Road after a visit to PCWorld it was really low in the sky directly in front of me. Looked absolutely huge!

I was wondering why it was so bright Friday night! So it wasn't just the alcohol working…
