prince albert with 140mm forks?

a lad i know just bout one of these and want to stick 140mm forks on it – website says upto 130mm so what do you reckon?

how will it handle with a longer fork? any ideas?

I have Pikes on mine (its a Mk1) and its pretty much spot on.

IMHO If the bike will spend most of it’s life coming downhill, fine, that’ll make up for the slackened angles. If the bike will be aksed to do lots of steep technical climbing, steering will be vague and difficult to keep front wheel down, so just stick with the 130 or less.

I have pikes on mine as well. U-turn so can adjust easily.

U-turn, a smashing suggestion! i’ll pass it on, dint think of that one!

Also 140mm on one fork is not the same length as the on another make, so you need to check the axle to crown measurements.

the extra force from the forks will rip the head tube clean off.

pick a penny out of your wallet, just think how much something that size is going to ruin/improve the bike.

nothing to worry about, 130mm is becoming less common anyway, everything seems to be 120mm XC forks or 140mm AM forks

I’m running a set of bombers on mine with the same A2C length as Pikes. It handles great with a shortish stem (50-70mm). When I first contacted Dialled Bikes Mike told me that quite a few riders were running Pikes on theirs.

mine was bob on with pikes – far better than revs

I have Pikes on mine and she is the dogs dangly doo-das!
