Take the bus – I drove to my miu and they put me in a half-cast straight away and told me i couldn’t drive. My car is still stuck in a carpark 15 miles away!

Lol, hope it’s not a charge paying car park.
Luckily my local MIU is only a ten min walk away, but am going to need to organise getting away from work as the x-ray dept is only open during office hours!

I broke mine and didn’t realise it was broken for a couple of years. This was shown in the X-ray as there were 2 small bones where there should have been a single bone (scaphoid).

Cue surgeon booking me in for surgery quick sharpish, a bone graft and 3 months in plaster.

Was still riding when I was in plaster (after about a month as it was driving me nuts).

I still have a lock on the wrist – it doesn’t bend back into the position necessary for push ups (good excuse) So make sure you get some physio after the cast comes off, I missed this as I went off to uni.

Bad news, man. Give me a shout when you want to do some leisurely riding – you know I’m all about the leisurely riding…

    😉

Sorry. Look after it and give it time to heal.

Buy some suffer fest videos and sit on the turbo!

Arrggh… thats what I thought…..but just think a minute.. all that sweating under the plaster, when mine came off the smell was dreadful and my arm was covered in a thick layer of dead leathery brown skin that came off in strips…

Broke mine, told it wasnt broken (definitely was visible in the xay, but nevermind), 6 weeks later got it checked again and put in cast, 3 months later had surgery as it wasnt healing, 5 months later got the cast off, 3 months later was only using a light support for the wrist after getting several different types of splint.

Is fine most of the time, slight reduction in movement but not much,
hurts a bit more in on cold winter road rides and for a week or so if I fall hard on it!

As others have said, make sure you give it the proper time to heal, it breaks again easily and you don’t want another long period in a cast because you rushed the first lot! Mine really screwed up a year for me, couldnt sketch and told not to use the workshop with my hand in a cast, and was starting my final year of a product design degree = told to take a year out!

Teasel – I’ll give you a shout once I know the prognosis. Failing that, I’ll just turn up for cheesecake 🙂
