This thread has put be off ever using OO/PX.

Yeah, I’m reluctantly concluding the same. Maybe we’ve not heard the whole story, but on the face of it, the OP’s situation does seem to be a whole different order of magnitude from the “usual” reports of missed delivery dates, delivery of wrong stuff, and abject failure to rectify the same.

If (and, fair enough, it’s still provisionally “if” at the moment?) they would take a part with a potentially dangerous fault, say they were sending it for technical inspection, then returned it to the customer with a note saying “no fault” and then it turns out that (1) there very much is a fault and (2) they were lying about sending it away for technical inspection, then that’s really, really quite serious, isn’t it?

I’m interested in the outcome of Brant’s enquries into the initial question re the Boxers.

People should also remember the correct response to the line” we showed the importer, they said it was fine”. And it is…. ” f-ck you, why do I give a shit what they say, that’s your problem, my contract is with you. So refund me or give me product of merchantable quality”.

Not a sockpuppet, definitely a fanboy who’s appreciating having an LBS that doesn’t mean a 1 hour round trip to Halfords or having to park in town also a 1 hour round trip for the next nearest LBS.

Could potentially be described as a meatpuppet as I’ve rehashed what I’ve been told by the owner.

Ah, it was the druid reference made me feel “included”.

Wait till you get your bolts and they’re the wrong ones because they’ve changed how the dropouts mount.

Hah, I had that. Wasn’t too bothered, it was sorted fast (though the response was a mix of confusion and disbelief and suggsting I was doing it wrong) but months later it was still happening to people and the response was exactly the same 😆

PSA – On One Clearance sale – Slightly used Boxxers for sale 1 careful owner. Were sent to Fishers (maybe/probably not but they said so anyway) by them.

They were sent back to Fishers.

So OP needs to start a thread stating Fishers have reached a new low?

He didn’t buy them from fishers tho….

    but the OP did say;

fishers report they have never seen the part! Not only that, they’ve agreed to replace the crown due to the fault and within a 4 day turn around no questions asked.

which contradicts what brant has said and if untrue is a bit of a slur on Planet-x if Fishers failed to inspect properly the first time (or changed their minds on a subsequent occasion)?

OP why didn’t you start a thread without the naming and shaming in addition to the wording ‘a new low’.

For instance, a recent thread of mine:

    http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/2014-slx-brake-problem-help

Wheres the naming and shaming in mine even though the shop blatantly used the wrong fluid and tried telling me it was fine?

Quite combative. TBH if I was On One I’d have thought **** off.

It also makes me wonder, when people have problems with businesses, how are they talking to the rep on the phone? Blunt, rude? It wouldn’t surprise me. I heard someone in a bank talking to the teller like she was a piece of shit once. Almost a servile servant.

I find polite, talking to people solves it before slagging off on a forum.

That frame WAS noodley brant 😉

Been reading this thread with interest and keeping out as I’ve always had a reasonable experience with On One, although 75% of orders have had some kind of error.

They now seem incapable of sending the correct item out for an order and have sent me the wrong product out today, after giving me a total run around in their Barnsley and Sheffield stores today.

Working in e-commerce retail these problems must be seriously hurting their business, or something is seriously wrong and some people need a massive kick up the ****.

Also interesting that the review service they use is Feefo – the only one on the market where the retailer can tailor which reviews their potential customers see.

Starting to loose faith in On One after spending some serious cash with them over the last few years. Think my business is now going elsewhere.

I placed an order of 13 products yesturday arrived this morning everything as it should be and most stuff with 70% discount! Only ever had one problem with an order that didn’t turn up, but was refunded. I’ve ordered from them many times and wouldn’t hesitate to reccomend them to friends. Suprised to see so much negativity towards them. Hope you all get your problems sorted 🙂

Agreed it does appear that PX were true to their word and did return the part to fishers. However I gave PX the chance to rectify the fault to which they simply returned the failed part, choosing not to warranty the part. My warranty and point of contact is with PX not fishers or another bike shop, a point PX have acknowledged off forum.

And hora I was at no point rude or blunt, as you insinuated in your post. I followed the correct returns procedure, they simply were not interested in issuing a replacment.

In my case there was no question it was the part at fault, rather than a bodged attempt at trying to shorten a hose. Not sure how the wrong fluid was used, you dont even need to bleed the new shimano’s after shortening the hose.

Since this post I have received an appologetic email from PX customer services. And for what’s its worth (not an attempt at humble pie as I do think PX provided a very poor customer service) I will continue to use PX as their prices are very competitive.

Continuing on a positive note, only 4 weeks friday till I’m off to the alps!

I thought Fishers were responsible for the RS warranty?

The missing dropouts problem with my on one frame has been resolved, all good.

Have I got this right? It’s Fisher’s that lied when they told the customer they’d never seen the part?

The conversations behind the scenes right now between Fishers and Planet X will be interesting, I’m sure.

Bloody hell, I better do the lottery this week, looks my crystal ball is working! 🙂

Maybe PX did send them back and maybe Fishers returned them and said they were ok. When your LBS returned them, maybe someone at Fishers realised they’d made a mistake and are trying to cover their arses by saying they haven’t seen them.

    Maybe…….

I wonder if that is an e-mail phone call that On one will respond to 😈

I guess though, you have to wonder if OnOne even looked at the part themselves or just relied on Fishers. I’ve had issues in the past where something isn’t working right and some “expert” says it’s fine, only to be proved to be wrong by a cursory examination by someone else.

Pre-ordered a ringmaster last Wednesday, when there was a 3-5 day wait on stock. Given the amount of stick On-One get on here, was expecting to wait a while. Got it this morning, correct and intact… 😀

the converse of the “just riding along” B.S user claim is the “never seen it before” manufacturer/supplier claim. I had the lowers on a pair of Manitous crack at the fork arch many years ago (’97 model IIRC). Answer initially said they’d never seen it before, I pointed them to the MTBR thread of recorded failures of that model in the exact same place, they warrantied the lowers.

Given that PX sells pretty much zero double crown forks the warranty dept is hardly likely to be full of Boxxer boffins, so yes they likely would take Fishers at their word.

Right, in the interests of balance:

I bought a set of road wheels from PX online on Weds afternoon – they were delivered on thursday morning! Absolutely awesome service! Very pleased.

i bought some stuff from PX, it turned up, some stuff missing, emailed PX, no reply, whinged on here, brant emailed me, sorted it out, stuff turned up in a few days. i’m still happy considering the price i paid and quality of the stuff i got. happy to use them again (and in fact have)
