I’ve never been interested in riding at Mayhem before but this thread’s made me want to do it. Think I’ll go and get my wiring checked

The conditions look like every ride I have had this year.

Horrified at the jetwash piture – what about the hosepipe ban?!! Arrest them, Centurion!

Any more pics of us SUMO boys?

Cameras seemed to be pointed at us all weekend 😆

    Superb fun in the mud!

All green only 48 hours before…

Escorting a very broken friend round her final lap…

“Clean” (well jetwashed) bike after racing…

Note that the skinny tyres and tonnes of mud clearance meant it only doubled in weight over the course of a lap, rather than tripled like some peoples did!

Thanks Footflaps, I’ve now downloaded your pic of me (2102) and owe you a beer.

I’ve only had time to read the first three pages of this thread but am always dismayed when folks who call themselves mountain bikers shy away from mud. I thought the conditions at this year’s event made the race far more a test of skill than any dry course ever could be. There were huge opportunities for anyone good at spotting the firmest line to ride or with the confidence to stay off the brakes on the descents to make up ground on fitter but less skilled riders.

Crikey, that’s going back some mate! 😉

Saw you Saturday afternoon briefly chatting with Aimee, Kelly and Jon, was busy just prepping my bike and by the time I’d finished you’d gone, otherwise was on my way to say hello…

You got some good pics there as per usual…

Anyway, respect to our 3rd man out, daveells, who got 3rd fastest time up the Kenda climb! And without doubt, he was the fastest person to do it on a Singlespeed…
