Has anyone linked to here from a photography forum?

I did, ironically, they had a somewhat typical STW response

It appears that they’ll look at photos, but only if posted on their own forum. The concept that by clicking on one link they can see many, if they wish, passed them by….

Great topic, and great work everyone. Very inspiring!

I’ve been doing a photography course this year (Contemporary Landscapes, at Whitworth Art Gallery) which is the first time I’ve ever really shown anything I’ve taken. Been a great experience. Heres some shots I’ve taken for it:

Not brilliant pics but a great holiday . . . some biking in Utah, rented from Poison Spider Bikes in Moab, bike rental and a shower and the end of the day – handy when you’re living out of the back of a van on a campsite with minimal facilities ;-)

Bar M Trails – Close to Arches NP and this pic not far from some lovely tech rocky stuff

Slickrock Trail – Tough (for me)

    Some landscapey pics

    Canyonlands NP

    Delicate Arch, Arches NP

    Monument Valley

    Zion NP

Couldn’t cycle near Zion as there was snow on the ground and the soil is clay, pretty much unridable, next time ;-) Nice part of the world.

    This week i discovered bokeh

    Flickr

Sorry I missed the reply – yes they were taken on a Nikkor f1.8 50mm, best £100 i’ve ever spent, really useful lens. Can be a bit of a pain with a fixed focal length at times if you only take one lens out riding, but it more than makes up for it in speed and sharpness.
Feel free to add on Flickr i’m just starting to get the hang of it

Taken yesterday. Not particularly spectacular, but there’s just something about the lines and layers and colours that pleases me. Even managed to get the horizon near-as-dammit level… :)

Nice, though the angles in the second one confuse my brain…but then maybe that’s kinda the point? Still can’t decide if it’s ace or wrong though…. so it’s probably ace.

Were you using your u4/3 kit for those, or the canon? (seem to recall chat about having both on another thread)

EDIT: lazy me, flickr links, and it was a canon.

Cheers. Yeah the second one is with a fisheye which is probably what has created the brainwrong. :)
