I’m presently eating a full English at my desk. I keep dropping beans on my keyboard.

Start taking kippers for breakfast. Should generate the desired ban soon enough.

Take your shirt off and have a quick wash and shave in the kitchen sink – the room should clear pretty sharpish.

Do this everyday as ‘…you just don’t have time before leaving the house’.

I guess depends what they’re eating, I eat toast at my desk which I doubt bothers anyone, I could understand smoked kippers might though. As for why, well I prefer to start early but am not really hungry before 7am (when I leave the house), I also don’t function before my 3-shot coffee so get a peanut butter toast sandwich with it (which keeps me feeling full until about 4pm).

Quite a few here make porridge at work and eat at their desks, can’t see the problem with that either (although there were discussions about the company not supplying milk for breakfasts, just for tea/coffee which although seemed reasonable to me died away after a lot of complaints).

Perfectly acceptable practice in our offices. Quite a few like me either cycle or run to work, so no chance of breakfast at home. Others have been to the gym or just pick something up en-route and then we have a sandwich van that comes round so there’s always folk buying breakfast from that.

Can’t really see what the problem is. Is it any different to eating your lunch at your desk

If it’s cereal, start a work related conversation with them just as they pour the milk on, and see if you can get them to come and look at something so by the time they get back their cornflakes are soggy.

Do they clean their teeth afterwards? I can’t stand having unclean teeth after breakfast! Stale milk on the breath 😕

I do this. It’s because I’m in earlier than everyone else.

Slackers, wasting time at home eating breakfast.

Start work at 6am. Can’t face eating at 5am, so it’s a couple of mugs of splosh at work then cereal/yoghurt about 8am. Not sure there’s much of an alternative?

IME it’s not just the runners / cyclists, quite often it’s just those that would rather eat breakfast in work time than have to get up 15 mins earlier,
And then they bigger off for a shit with their smartphones for 30 minutes.
    Slackers!

Why is it a problem having breakfast at home? I cycle to work, leave home at 6:40, and have time for breakfast. Why should I put up with people and their smelly food just so they can have a bit longer in bed.
    Wimps.

Perhaps they are all doing a fasted ride on their commutes?

We have a restaurant that serves the building and cafes on every other floor, all serve breakfast and coffee etc.. quite right too.
Some folk travel half the country to get here in a morning, some run, some cycle, some walk, some catch the tube etc. etc. Some get here at 0630, some get here at 11, some don’t go home for 24hrs, some do 3hrs then head home again..
Perfectly acceptable to scoff bacon rolls or cereal or croissant or whatever else you fancy..

Get with modern work life living, it’s the future.

Yes – and knowing they can steal the tea/coffee milk rather than use their own.
And they have bad breath. Notice how people recoil from you, halitosis boy.

Acceptable here though bacon butties might be a little “delicate” given my boss is a Muslim and sits next to me!

I remember, pre austerity, working at Haringey Council in that London. My boss came up to a colleague and started asking her to carry out a task, I can’t remember what.

Through a mouthful of cereal she replied “can you come back when I’ve finished my breakfast”. This was 10am. She didn’t make the cut when it was time to tighten the purse strings

Get a life Op 😉 Why does what they’re doing bother you?
    Is it smelly?
Are they managed by you and should be working?
Are they your peer and should be working while you are?
    Are they making unnecessary noise?
Are you just feeling grumpy today or all the time?
Are you hungry and quite fancy their sausage butty?

    I eat breakfast at work.
I get up at 5:45 and have a 40 mile drive to work, so leaving as early as possible means I can avoid the worst of the traffic. It’s still dire, just a bit less dire than it would be if I left later.

If I sat around eating breakfast at home, I would start to hit the worst of the traffic.

I’m also not hungry that early in the morning so it makes sense to leave breakfast until about 9am, as it will then see me through to lunch.

Occasionally, I will treat myself to a double sausage & egg mcmuffin meal, as there’s a McD’s about 2 mins down the road….Yum Yum…..!

A new starter recently came upstairs with scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast. That’s just showing off…..

Do muslims have a problem with other people eating pork? I’ve never met any who object to this.

The fact that this irritates people to such an irrational extent makes doing it even more appealing.

If you start at work at 9, then having breakfast at your desk and finishing at 9 would be acceptable as long as it isn’t smelly. Why should they pay you to eat a meal in working time?
