    Chris,where are those steps?

And is that lantern pike descent 1.17 onwards?

Those steps are here, good descent, but better with a fair bit of space between people.

I believe I once rode over someone who’d fallen off at the bottom.

Doesn’t surprise me… I once overtook a relative of a certain Mr Craig down there once, but i’m sure he was just being nice. I doubt it will ever happen again.

Pook – The front picture of your video features a guy wearing blue with bright yellow rucksack, I was the rider in front of him, so you just get to see the top of my head under the word vimeo……I have not forgiven you for cutting me out 😉

Me and the wife might come along to this pootle. Where is everyone meeting up and how far from the train station please ?

The meeting point will be just across the road from the train station in Edale.

Getting there might be an issue – you;ll have to check the train times and costs, it’s not cheap as it crosses the border into derbyshire

I was thinking this had been off the top of the forum for a while!

Lesa – it’ll be good to have you both along. Between us, me and NBT have knocked up something of a route which should please the troops. Let’s just pray for good weather.

    What’s the route then Chris?

None of your beeswax young sammy me lad. If I were put the route up on here, I’d have a week of you lot whinging. And bearing in mind I’ve got to put up with 4 hours of you lot whinging on Saturday anyway, I don’t much fancy adding 5 days on top of that.

    😉

Good point Julian, just wont be much fun riding to the station and home again afterwards if it’s chucking it down.

You know we’re going mountain biking, right? You could always bring an umbrella… 😉

I know, but there’s a difference between finishing a ride and sitting in a warm pub and finishing a ride, sitting in a warm pub and drying out, then going out in the rain again. But i’ll survive. What size is the Cotic X btw?

Yes, Pook, however we’re riding Saturday. It could be a whole different ballgame.

Hey up – will the ride be OK for a dveloping beginner possibly accompanied by somewhat less of a beginner who is on the long haul back from an ankle op (me!) ?

    BadlyWiredDog

Can I forecast the route? I’ll write it down now and put it in a sealed envelope to be opened at the end of the ride 😉

Erm – BWD, if you like/have the time/inclination. Might be a laugh.

Steel4Real – how beginnner? We aim to be welcoming and you’ll both get loads of support and encouragement from the troops.

We’ll be doing about 15 miles in the peaks with some technical stuff and a couple of biggish climbs – if you know the area you’ll know what you’re in for!
In fact – it’s this kind of stuff (‘scuse the quality)…
