He was an odd signing. Other than a world class scowl, I’m not sure what he brings. Still, he was cheap. They seemed to be throwing money at anything with legs at that point in their desperation. He might actually improve with some of the new signings. Partly the spotlight will be less on him.

I don’t think Kane would link up well with Rashford and Greenwood, Same with England and Sterling and Sancho, Kane isn’t a good match. Assuming you are playing a 4 3 3, then at utd it would be Martial Greenwood Rashford, and for England Sancho (Greenwood or Rashford) Sterling.

That’s not to say Kane isn’t a quality striker, but he is better in a different formation where his role is a little different.

We seem unwilling to put some decent crosses in which means everything has to go through the middle and against well organised, deep sitting teams there is almost no space.

Had issues through the middle last year but since Fernandes has come we don’t vary it up enough. Teams worked it out in the last few games

I can only assume VAR is being operated by UEFA – in order to make sure cash strapped upstarts, City of Manchester City dont rock the boat too much.

The template to beat city is well known now, most teams still need a bit of luck, but they know it is doable. Pep needs to show he can adapt. Every one of those penalties was absolutely nailed on. You can’t have an argument against any of them. It was down to defenders getting skinned.

It’s not like any were dodgy handballs like Spuds today or Lindelofs last weekend.

2 of the Leicester pens were soft but not that dodgy. Some great goals in that game also though, especially loved Mahrez clean finish on the first one.
