Blair and Cameron both loved to be seen to be making foreign policy themselves,Boris may have taken the ultimate spear-carriers role,I hope he doesn’t find it beyond him.
She’s giving Boris a chance to redeem himself by persuading everyone he hoodwinked last month that actually we might be better off in, he’ll do his best to do that as rescuing the situation is his only chance of regaining some credibility (in the political sense, not actual credibility obviously) and have a sniff of No.10 at any time in the future.
Not a bad set of real world experience in the cabinet so far:
Theresa May – Bank of England
David Davies – SAS
Phillip Hammond – Medical Devices
Michael Fallon – Set up a chain of nurseries
Liam Fox – NHS Doctor
It’s nice to see a cabinet that’s not rammed with lawyers / former BBC Journalists / people who’ve only ever done politics. Not quite sure where to place Boris though – Mayor, Buffoon or just biding his time until 2020.
Given that Johnson is not actually Eurosceptic, it could be interesting. Maybe it’s an olive-branch to the rest of Europe, given that he’s not actually minister for Brexit, but I dunno.
