  • Orange stage Evo dropper choice?

I bought one of the Orange Stage Evo frames that are on sale. I’m planning to move everything from my Segment over but the Segment dropper is 125mm (and I often thought too short).

Orange spec a 150 or 175mm, which should I get?

Also how hard to change the travel in a fox 34 by 10mm?

    Thanks!

You should be able to choose whatever drop you want.
My large State Evo has 150mm and it’s luxurious compared to my old 100mm dropper..

A 180mm OneUp would be my choice

I’ve a 170mm AXS Reverb (lucky find in the sales) and for me on a large Stage Evo and 32″ inside leg, it’s just enough, even for Golfie, Gwydyr off piste, etc..

Get the longest that’ll work with your personal saddle height.

I’ve also bought one of the bargain Stage Evo frames and was looking at the cable routing this afternoon.  What is the correct dropper cable routing?  Right now I have a bit of outer threaded through the bottom of the seat tube and up the down tube to exit from the hole near the head tube.  This seems OK but the rather tricky finger work required through the hole in the BB shell to make the cable go around the bend has made me wonder if I am missing something obvious?

It’s where mine must go. It emerges with the brake at the headtube, but hidden other than that.

And OP, I’m 172cm and bought a medium frame.  I will be fitting a 180mm OneUp post and don’t anticipate any problems with that length.

I’d do a bit of measuring of your legs, seat tube length plus crank length and see where you’re at. Then get the longest you can fit in the frame.

Sorry to change the topic slightly… Any of you guys who’ve just bought one of these absolute bargain frames, fancy PXing/swapping your Fox Float X Factory shock for a DPS Factory, or some cash…? Just thinking you might be wanting to build a slightly more XC biased build, where I want to go the other way on my bike…
