Nordest bikes – anybody got one?

Look really nice esp. the Ti one! Under 2kg as well for the largest size bit more expensive than the Kingdom X2 but lighter.

But 160mm on a hardtail that’s a big change in geometry if you bottom out the forks?

The guys are easy to deal with too and even sent her a free shirt.

I think the geo is slack enough for a 160 fork to not be a problem.

Like the look of their Lacrau Pinion bike. If my Sick frame doesn’t materialise I’ll be looking at that some more

Is that set up with 160mm 29er forks and 29er wheels?

If so – is there any chance you might be able to measure the static bottom bracket height in that set up?

They only give sagged bb drop on the geometry chart so it would be good to get another measurement.

Got to do some work on it later so i’ll measure the bb height for you then.

Measured it earlier and cant remember for sure 😳  but think it was 330mm.

I’ll check again tomorrow for you.

They certainly look the part – interesting that the largest size looks to keep the bear straight through top tube/seat stays line and just adds in a larger extended seat tube support

It’s somewhere between 325 and 330 mm to the center of the BB

Can’t get any more accurate than that as I can’t see if I’m holding the bike up dead straigh when I’m measuring it.

One more easy question Stu – from your Flickr feed it looks like your running an old XT Non-Boost chainset on there with a 30t narrow wide chainring in the middle position? If thats all correct presumably it all plays nicely and clears the chainstay plate as its a boost 148mm back end.

Yep old XT crank with inboard mounted 30T

Fits fine, around 4-5mm clearance at the chainring/plate area.
