That Edinburgh example looks pretty stupid really. If they wanted to do that they really have to put a cycle lane in place and extend it all the way through the one-way section. Given it’s one-way for cars the road looks wide enough to allow it.

I was going up Westbourne Road, having pulled out of Southbourne Road. She was miles away coming down W’bourne Road.

There were some roadworks on the left of W’bourne just in the one way bit, but she came across to have a go at me. I’m certain of it.

Other one-way thing that annoys me (on bike or in car) is people that move back over to the usual side of the road to come out the end of a L or R turn t-junction, rather that keep L for L turn / R for R turn. Every single day I have to wait for people waiting to cross the traffic, but if they’d moved to a sensible road position, half the queue behind them that does not need to cross the flow, could proceed.

No entry for cars, one-way for buses, two-way for bikes, becoming two-way for everything just a little bit up the hill where that side street is.

Nothing quite as safe as pulling onto a busy main road from a partially obscured road that nothing else ever pulls out of!

Not sure, I think you probably have to guess. I’ve never ridden it! I wouldn’t go anywhere near it (there is a perfectly good off-road CTC cyclepath going the same way).

Kings Stables Road/ Lothian Road in Edinburgh is good – (coming towards the camera) two way into one way plus cycleway on pavement, then it just ends on the pavement.
