Currently riding 5 spot and hustler for the past 4 years along with 456 ti and stiffee, now hankering after a change of fs.
Inspired by Tons Helius the bug has set in, so what are folks thoughts on the Helius and any other suggestions (suitable for tons body double). Will be running with Pikes.

TON --- is it fat proof

Persoanlly on a AM I'd go for a 36 talas, or even the 2010 Revelation's with 150mm.

Nicolais rock - nuff said, since I got my Helius CC I've been climbing quicker and descending just as fast as when I had my Pitch.

@pete - they're very sturdily constructed, hence the additional weight penalty, but sweet tracking stiff [no flex] stays.....
awesome machines, although my AM suffers inane pedal strike, but superb carving ability 😀

check out the nicolai forum on mtbr.

I can also reccommend a Fett Set for the ultimate headset.

I spoke to Simon at Momentum last week to confirm the changes to the spec (Dizzy Urban Camo is now confirmed, but I've stuck with the ano black rear just for personal preference). He said that the indicated delivery date from Nicolai was December 7th.

The CCDB has arrived already.

All very exciting; I have a few trips planned to the Peak District to give her a good shake down.

I love nicolai's. I was saving for an ION after changing my order from an AFR, but now I want an AFR again.

Have you seen Dipper's koi camo AFR on the MTBR nicolai forum? I have an ion myself. Let me know if you want any insight into it.

I saw that one - not to my taste (although my Helius is Camo). After seeing a picture of an Orange Ano Nicolai on MTBR - that would be the colour that I would go for if/when I buy another one 🙂

Yeah if you find it in your stomachs to stump up £400 to pay for orange ano!

I'm sure I paid at least a couple of hundred for the camo option last time - so i'd just need to save up a bit longer 😉

Edited to add: this is the one I saw:

£400 for orange ano!

Mr Nicholai must be smoking crack.
Love the bikes, but please Mr Nich justify this for your customers.

or possibly urban camo, but that's getting too common / popular.

I think dippers bike would look better if he'd got the rear triangle done the same job. I like what he paid for it though...

You boys must be selling crack to be able to afford a Nic. Esp if you're sticking on a CCDB, jeez.

TLR heard you sold the 6 pack coz it was orange, no?

Me, I'd have an orange bike (but not at ~£400)

Im not saying that Nicolai is the best company to buy a bike from , but they do build one of the best bikes on the planet !!!!

They are expensive , but in this case ...youn really do get what you pay for !

This bike/frame changed my riding 200% .

Despite all the tech and solid engineering no World Cup podiums, have to say I'm quite suprised about that. Would love an Ion myself.

Have any of you Helius owners compared the AM (or others) to a Cove Hustler?

Compare in what sense? I owned a Hustler many moons ago now, and don't recall much about the ride to be honest. I have 3 Nicolais and another on order. What I can tell you is the Nics are way better quality than the Hustler IMO (or other bikes I've had for that matter). They are also phenomenal rides (but then again, there are plenty of perfectly good FS bikes out there), with good CS direct from the man himself if you need it....etc etc...
