The new Boardman road bike range looks very tidy. Interesting to see what the mountain bikes turn out like.

Not sure about the paint job on the Ti one. Probably looks better than in the photos.

It does look good and it’s good to see a decent sized brand that really seem interested in it from the cycling perspective and all actually ride.

For balance though, I think the Ti one looks rubbish in terms of the paint job.

I like the look of those. Even the CX bike looks really nice.

I understand that people might be put off by the selling via Halfords, but they look like decent, well specced, well designed bikes.

I love the Ti paint job 😆 . Looks a bit retro.
Lovely line up to be honest. I’ll be interested in seeing the new MTB range too.

very high end, not going to get much change out of £5k for this,

EDIT: says 8k, thats a hell of a shift in focus, and your going to get a lot of people staying away because of the Halfords association, risky strategy imho

The paint on the Ti is an acquired taste I agree, it’s the shape of it that got me first.
Won’t buy one, but I do like the shape and stance of it.

Well done that Boardman Chap, someone send him a biscuit. 😀

Boardman bikes have had their elite range for a while now so not a shift at all. The Elite ones are sold through independent LBS’ whilst the rest of the range is sold through Halfords
I went with a buddy to have a look at the elite bikes in Leeds and they were really good value, well thought out bikes

but you never see any though, apart from the occasional TT bike

Forks that curve forwards. Just stop it. Now.

Well they’ve clearly put a lot of thought into them and really sharpened up the design side. Quite impressive.

I have no interest in CX, gravel or gnarmac bikes, but lordy this looks nice…

I like the ti, I guess they were shooting for a heat colouration effect? Not quite made it, if that was the idea but it’s still nice. Don’t like the logo though, reminds me of cheap ebay brands

@dirtyrider, according to the website all their dealers are in the south east of england so I suppose all the bikes are down there. Apparently they sell out every year so I guess they’re doing something right!

Was it just me out did that feature not mention the H word at all?

Yeah, nice bikes but not sure why you’d buy one over something from someone else, especially if spending £5k+.

Elite series doesn’t look to be significantly better value than the big brands. Still a bit tarnished by their lower end lineup and the Halfords connection too.

Bikerumour very US oriented, don’t think they even know what Halfords is over there.

Anyone else think the Logo Name typeface looks similar to Bowman now??

The CX’er does indeed look good, but I’m tainted by the old silver/red one that weighed 14tons without pedals and cages. (I bought one for MrsBouy so we could go CX touring together, that didn’t end too well so I sold it. Needed a fork lift and two shot putters to lift it in the back of a van 😆 )

    Still, good effort..

There are dealers outside of the SE. Just not that many in total so you may have to travel to get one.

As said previously the elite bikes are sold only via LBS not Halfords. Makes a lot of sense as it’s a totally different market.

I already have a Boardman – 6 or so years old and the £3500 Ultegra Di2 SLR will be on the short list for it’s replacement.
It’s priced the same as many other Ultegra Di2 disc bikes but I suspect they will be a fair bit lighter at 8.2kg

at least 5 people in my (not very big) road club have got Boardman elite series bikes, they look really nice in the flesh and are good value, even more so when the LBS gives us a great deal as a club.

Logotype is dreadful – really awful.

Which is probably why the Ti frames are the standouts 🙂

😆 thats why YOU see them

I’ve seen a few around, more than my mates Norco road bike where Evans only imported 12 of them

That CX does look lovely, agreed that the TI colouring isn’t brilliant.

Hope this means the Halfords level bikes stop getting beaten with the ugly stick now as they are the C2W for my workplace and I’ll want a new CX bike in about a year

Indeed. You kind of wish they had a separate brand for the high end stuff. Maybe I’m just being a bit snobbish but the Boardman brand for me is hitting the C2W price point at Halfords.

The TT bikes are probably the only ones I don’t see on a regular basis.

Do quite a few local and some open TT’s and hardly ever see a Boardman.

I do however see loads in the bike racks of local businesses, usually the cheaper mtb’s.

Seen quite a few at Triathlons when i’ve been along to support my mate.
Nowhere near as many as the PX TT bikes though
