what sort go things should I be looking for that might indicate instability, or risk to others? What about if she was having fires in her front garden, instead of just collecting junk?

that just sounds like you’re planning on setting fire to stuff in her front garden and then blaming it on her!?!

without trying to sound mean… if she was a risk to herself or others you wouldn’t need me to give you pointers on what to look for. i suspect this is you being a snobby neighbour and her being a bit shouty/lary at times doesnt mean she’s mentally unwell!

Why so? I have a friend who was sectioned for seemingly very little, mad as a box of frogs, but you had to spend a lot of time with him to truly realise this. It would seem that most of her ‘friends’ aren’t with her for that long and she doesn’t behave like any normal person I know…

One of the neighbours say they saw her in Asda in jeans and a bra, or bikini top… that’s jsut not normal, is it!!

so very little apart from the mad bit then 🙄

is this a poor trol or are you really this hard of thinking?

I saw a bloke on a bike ..it had big wheels snd no gears wearing shorts …it is worse they were not even baggy.. going downhill in the snow and ice I ask you is this normal ?
How do I section this individual before they irritate me some more?

Perhaps not to you but it is to her, just keep a diary of events and inform the Council and police everytime she is confrontational. otherwise enough of this nonsense about getting her sectioned.

she’s obviously fallen into the trap of being seduced by a brand, section her at once, isn’t that right TJ 😉

Sectioning is for somone who is a danger to themselves or others not just a bit shouty. People are allowed to make unconventional lifestyle choices

…luckily for you that hey TJ 🙂

Listen guys I just wanted some advice.

I know people make different lifestyle choices, singlespeeders for example. But as I have mentioned a few people have alluded to her mental state so I don’t think it’s just me jumping to conclusions!

TandemJeremy, I still don’t understand why what I wrote was “bollox”? What is it exactly you do for a living? One minute you’re an expert in branding the next sectioning!

Philconsequence I wasn’t going to set fire to her garden, it was a joke or an attempt at one.

Thank you to the posters who have suggested keeping a diary of incidents, will meet up with a couple of neighbours when I can to ask them to do the same.

Actually I am a general trained nurse.

Still I have a basic understanding of what “sectioning” is

It is not something that happens lightly, it is not something a neighbour can do, it will do nothing to alter your position at all.

If someone is a danger to themselves or to others – thats significant danger to life and limb they can be detained for a short period to allow treatment.

A shouty drunk does not fall into this category nor and eccentric person with odd lifestyle choices.

I can understand your feelings about the antisocial behaviour but all this about sectioning and shopping in asda wearing odd clothes is just silly
Keep a log of the antisocial behaviour and DON’T do anything stupid like setting fire the the rubbish in her garden
If you start that it’s you who may be sectioned or arrested cos it’s a bit mad and antisocial in itself innit really
Or tell your mrs to wtfu and own her with bombers!

I contacted my local council about the problems I was having and they said move house

SERIOUS? Is that true? Thats disgusting.

My Bestmate had a problem single Mum DSS renting from a private Landlord next door to her. He went through the whole process, even had noise meters set up in his property by the council.

In the end, guess what? The council said they had done everything possible and offered a local Priest to ‘mediate’ between the two neighbours.

What the ****. Nice one Brighton Council.

She must have utterly wrecked the interior of the house as a month or so later she was evicted by the Landlord (huge pile of interior fittings in the back garden).

My wife was very upset by the whole incident, why should she have to WTFU? I’ve worked very hard to get to where I am and live in the house I do, why should the value of my house and my neighbour’s be ruined by somebody who has made “odd lifestyle choices”? Imagine if everybody chose not to work or to look after their property!

Made me think of a book called Eats, shoots & leaves 🙂

Now about this neighbour, does she give a subscriber discount? Is there adequate parking? Does she have nosey curtain twitching neighbours filming everyone who comes & goes 😉

From what the OP has said there is no way she is going to get sectioned for what she is (or isn’t doing). She just sounds a little “crazy” in the way others have put it that she has some odd and differing lifestyle choices.

I would find out who your local Neighbour Police Officer (NSO) is. This was brought in by the Home Office over the last 3-4 years. Everyone/area has an NSO, so a police officer and bunch of PCSO’s who help deal with lower level criminality such as anti-social behvaiour. Depending on the exact details of what she is doing they may be able to look at getting ASBO’s or working with the council to re-house her (although no doubt she becomes someone else’s problem). As already suggested though you do need to start keeping a detailed diary and again you can get “official” ASBO diaries from the police. This is their remit and DON’T let them fob you off, you will have an NSO who should be doing this. Good luck. It’s all good and well everyone on here TTP but until they have been in the same situation they can’t imagine how much it can brew and become a much larger issue.

In all honesty I can just imagine you coming across holier than thou, and very smug and annoying with this woman, looking down your nose at her as she passes you in the street.
I’d probably react the same as she has to you.

Have you ever actually knocked on her door and asked her to keep the noise down?

because someone richer and more successful than yourself deem it fine to rent one of their houses to the housing association

ok….a neighbour over the road doesn’t work, 7 kids, massive rangerover with dirty great noisy v8 that she drives at very odd hours of the night for pretty short runs considering how fast she returns (apparently she’s part of a well known drug dealing family in the area), biggest house in the cul-de-sac with an extension and old dirty caravan that they’ve parked in the communal parking bit round the side instead of on their drive, about 15 different rusty bikes thrown all over their lawn, ivy smothering half the house and blocking off the light completely to 2 windows, some extra heating in the loft it seems so when it snows there’s on the only house without snow on the roof (only time i’ve known this was drug dealers who grew in their loft and were caught by police helicopter for the no snow reason), and the direct neighbours couldn’t sell their house for months and ended up loosing quite a bit of money because of this family.

i can kinda see how it would be frustrating to be honest, but all this sectioning rubbish needs to stop…. however:
