Afghan Whigs - The entire discography, but especially 'Gentlemen'(oh so bitter) and 'Black Love' (post-break up and out for revenge). '1965' is more the sleazy out on the pull album.

Anything by the wedding present

...I'd suggest 'My Favourite Dress'

I'd also be delving into the Billy Bragg and Leonard Cohen collection.

..and for some light relief:- Guns N' Roses - I Used To Love Her

The siege and investiture of Baron Van Frankenstein's Castle at Weisseria by Blue Oyster Cult.

Ok so it's not really relevant but it is the best song title ever ever!

Rinsed Radiohead - Kid A the first time I got dumped (by which I mean, the first time I got dumped and I cared...) now can't listen to it.

This time round its been Sign No More by Mumford and Sons, the first tune has some pretty uplifting 'you're a free man' type lyrics 8)

Also, Sigh no more = surprisingly good riding music.

I once departed ways with a young lady by playing Wonderstuff's "its your money I'm after baby" after an enormous argument.

Not sure, but that one might have come about after the lead singer got dumped by Laura Marling. For me, The Jam, 'The Bitterest Pill'

Not a recommendation, but a record. Just finished *ahem* you know...(blanked for the nervous of disposition).

She puts on the Kick Inside by Kate Bush, fire up post coital ciggie to Moving (the first track) by the Kick Inside (the 13th and final track) I was dressed and left. dumped in one album....

Thanks Helen...no really, thanks.

moses - that version is good, but I think George Jones did it first

"your lipstick on a half-filled cup of coffee
that you poured and didn't drink
but at least you thought you wanted it
that's so much more than I can say for me"

See also - pretty much every song ever recorded by George Jones

dont dream it's over - crowded house

this kicked in mid way through a break up, sitting in a quiet in a pub.

it turned a weepy conversation into ironic s****ing in seconds.

Radiohead - Thinking about you (you will hvae to dig thru the archives of their stuff if you dont know it - far superior to Creep IMHO)
Blink 182 - I miss you
Scouting for Girls - This aint a love song (on the radio all the time on my recent dumping)

When things are looking up and your meeting new people etc.. this works
Texas - In Demand
