Deep down everyone knows that 29+ front and 29 rear is the best, most fun combo.

    I do find mullet best.

I don’t think there’s any competition between a 29 and 27.5 front end, I can’t think of a situation where a 27.5 is better except if you’re attempting to do 50to01 style spinny jibs, though I save that kind of stuff for the bmx/dj.

29 versus 27.5 rear, I’m a hair under 5 10 with decently long legs, but I’m a manny, whippy rider, it’s not necessarily steep where I run out of space, it’s when I’m throwing the bike around and hucking to bottom out. But yeah as many others say, 27.5 tips into turns more naturally and is nicer to move around, 29 does take the edges off of things.

It’s as much of the future as 650b + sized wheels are….

Hello from the past (both my main bikes are 27.5+).

Seriously considering getting a set of 29er wheels for my RocketMAX though and playing around with a full 29er/mullay setup but worry a bit about BB height as the bike already feels low at times. Maybe even a full on monster truck 29+/27.5+ frankenbike?

I’m no racer though. Would do it for ‘feel’ and to further avoid overlap between bikes. I’m also a stumpy 168cm, so it might help there in the steep stuff…

Still have nostalgia for the 26+ setup I ran on my Rocket…

    It’s obvious:

Basically what ever people haven’t already bought is the way forward. The cash cow that keeps giving.

Can anyone translate for me please?

This thread and beer have caused the ordering of a 29er wheelset.

Time for loads of indecisive mix and match rides…

I’ve mulleted my Gen 1 RocketMax @colournoise. Stick with 150mm or less on the front (assuming it’s the 140mm you’ve got on the back). Speaking with Cy on email an angleset to slacken it a bit more would help too. Already rides very well though.
