An update:
Meg was in breach with Seren up until Monday, when we travelled down to Lewes for a homeopathic treatment called Moxybustion. Being from a science background, I have a healthy mistrust of such witchcraft and sorcery, which it would appear will now have to be shelved, as within 5 hours my beautiful daughter had made an executive decision to leave the confines of her mothers womb and eject in to the wide world.
And when I say eject, I mean eject.I went home from the hospital to grab some bits and pieces, plus sleep a little, an when I got back at half seven in the morning my wife was having fairly rapid contractions. This went on for an hour or two, becoming more intense, until she announced to all and sundry that the child was on its way. After a few minutes of mirth from the associated staff present, and some gently patronising re-assurance, someone decided to have a look; at which point battle stations were announced with all the swiftness and panic of Justin Beiber at a paternity clinic.
And from there, a blur – Seren was born within 45 minutes, with her remarkable mother/my wonderful wife giving birth with no medication or gas whatsoever. She cried as she came out, then settled and looked at me with her beautiful big eyes, and I understood what everyone who has ever had a child meant when they said the love you feel is ‘indescribable’.
Thank you to all of you that have messaged your support. Have a wonderful Christmas. From Mark, Megan, and Seren Fradgley x
