Marquez is making commentators and fans stretch the vocabulary of superlatives – amaze balls

That save when Marquez had the chatter and lost the front 😯

That really was epic skills from the #93. Just fearless.
I reckon in several years time he will be the new GOAT!
Well as long as he keeps it shiny side up!!

The boy is a marvel, theres no words left unused to describe his riding skills.
Just pure brilliance watching him on circuit.
He’s having fun and it shows!

Race tommorrow looks to be a gooden now Lorenzo, dani and vr seem to have shortened the gap to him from friday.

Can’t Wait

Best thing they could do is make him start from the back like he had to do in moto2

And Rossi starts 6th which is 4 places better than Quatar, will it help him out? Hope so!
A nice ding dong battle for the win will be great.

Couldn’t agree more.
Marquez is without a doubt the fastest, loosest, most unaware of his own mortality rider out there. He could knock it back 1% and still kick every one else’s arse whilst saving his own.
I am scared to say that he reminds me of Super Sic and although he is even faster he should maybe not ride his luck so much as it is generally a finite resource.
The save he made in qualifying was epic but when you are that far over the ragged edge, it is fate as much as skill dictates the outcome.

I don’t honestly think MArquez is using luck. I think personally he’s happy to lose the front, lose the rear, then just control it, carry on and set lap records. He seems to have that much control that when other crash, he’s still going round.

Well it’s fair to say he has luck on his side, but more telling is the fact that he rarely makes mistakes. But just like Rossi in 2006 (?) (When he handed Nicky Hayden the title) it only takes one little mistake to end up in Ashit Street.

i think it is doing him a discredit to say its luck, it reminds me of when a surgeon saves a child’s life and everyone starts praising ‘guardian angels’
marquez has skill and talent, bravery and determination. luck is bunk

Holly Shit! I thought Marquez was going to drop it on the last corner. Bit of a procession for the win, then a lapse of concentration when showboating almost proved costly.

Some nice racing for 3rd though.

Lets hope Yamaha can push the hondas harder over the coming races.

Nice for Dovi and Bradley

Outstanding ride by Marquez. He is the most talented rider on the grid but I still think he has more than his fair share of good fortune. He obviously borrowed Lorenzo’s and Crutchlow’s allocation of fairy dust for the day 😉

disagree. Just because he does things that other people simply cannot do, doesn’t make him ‘lucky’

His off last year at 180 was lucky, in that he walked away and raced the next day.

His talent is otherwordly as was Sennas I just hope nothing bad happens because he is aaaawwwwwwweeessssooommmmmmmmmme

Dafuc happened to Lorenzo at the start???
I was impressed with Iannone, great ride to hang on to third for that long.
Rossi did his tyres I think, but it’s got to hurt to be well beaten by two Ducatis! Well done Dovi too!

Good ride by Dovi. He def doesn’t get enough credit for his talents.

Could not believe the Lorenzo start, bloody hell!! Wouldn’t like to be the man that asks him what happened… 😮

With Marquez…its his confidence not luck…..and hes a lot more confident this and last year than he was in previous year’s. ..if he stays on a bike ..he wins ..exceptional talent

Talk to me about Argentina qualifying, what’s happening out there? No BT here you see, and I’m watching WSB qualifying at the moment 😉

Edit: bet it’s Marquez who comes out on top!

Ryder and Huewen sniping at each other is irritating me but whilst watching MotoGP qualy this afternoon Huewens statement of ” Looks like Bradders has got a hard on ” did make me chuckle 😀 I think he was talking tyres.

Nice track, Marquez well just brilliant as usual. Should be a good race from 2nd downwards with plenty of drifting 😀

Do you think J-Lo has been practicing his starts? 😆
He needs a result here, in fact anyone other than Marquez needs a result here otherwise he may well run off with the season. What’s the record for most wins in a season? Lorenzo holds that doesn’t he?
Anyway see you all Tuesday after I’ve seen it on ITV4 😀

😕 Lorenzo to Honda next year ?

Lorenzo to Honda next year ?

What would they want him for? Maybe he could buy a customer bike off them.

As enjoyable as the Marquez show is, it is a bit worrying for the rest of the season. Another pole/win double next race? Can’t see anyone stopping him.

Beginning to wonder if Dorna will allow some Ducatti like concessions to factory teams to try and help Yamaha. With the sealed engine rule it’s difficult to see how they can get back on the pace.

Doohanesque dominance 😕 the only thing tht is going to stop him is a injury.

Moto3 was a doozy, Miller not at all happy 😆

What’s the record for most wins in a season?

That would be Doohan in 97 with 12. And 12 poles and 14 podiums. What a year that was

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_500cc/MotoGP_Motorcycle_World_Champions

tbh it was pretty dull back then the only interest was estimating how much Doohan would win by

Dorna will allow some Ducatti like concessions

It’s a tricky situation. Honda want MotoGP to be a laboratory where they can experiment with tech like they always have and could quite easily pull out if it there are too many restrictions.

They’ve built the RCV1000R in the spirit of the regs only to have Dorna compromise for Yamaha and even more so for Ducati so you can imagine the big H must be feeling fairly pissed off at the moment

mrblobby

Can’t see Dorna letting that happen again. Expecting to see more rule tweaks.

Stewards happy with Fenatis pass then? Miller did not look pleased!

Edit: it is a tricky balance. Honda want to win and keep their advantage, but what’s the point if no one is watching? With such a depleted factory grid it must be a delicate balancing act for Dorna to keep both Honda and Yamaha happy.

Well Marquez didn’t have it all his own way. At least not at first.
Exciting start, it was all a bit Moto 3.

Looks like the Marquez show again in Jerez. Didn’t see qualifying but 0.4 ahead of Lorenzo in second, and 0.5 ahead of Dani in third. How many pole/win doubles in a row do we reckon he can notch up? Can’t see anyone stopping him at the moment.

rossi46

I’d say he’s going to win that BMW M3 for the years best qualifier!
Another win and he’s away with it, come on J-Lo pull your finger out!
Doohan type dominance anyone??

rossi46
Free Member

Yep, Doohan dominance 😀
Rossi likes Jerez so no surprises there- well done doc!
What’s going on with J-Lo? He seems to have lost his mojo, who’s going to challenge Marquez this year then?
Apart from himself that is 😀

I do wonder if J-lo has secured a contract with some other team for next year ……it’s not like him to throw the towel in so quick

Phwoar- bike porn alert!!

Could Dovi be on this next year?

Now that’s an exciting prospect. I was expecting Randy De Puniet to make a comeback riding it- maybe there will be 2 Suzuki’s out there next year?

monkeyfudger

Did I read or imagine Stoner had a test on Suzuki? Stoner is the only man that could touch Marquez right now (in qualifying anyway, he doesn’t like a fight does he!) I reckon but only on a Honda.

That Suzuki is bloody lovely!!

Was I just not paying attention or was it the damn highlights, when did Pedrosa get passed Lorenzo?
I do wonder if J-lo has secured a contract with some other team for next year ……it’s not like him to throw the towel in so quick
Who the hell’s he going to ride for? Why would Honda want him and the Yamaha is easily the better of anything bar the Honda.

rossi46

J-lo- Who the hell’s he going to ride for?

Suzuki? Ok maybe not just yet 😆

Would Stoner want to return though? I think becoming a dad would have changed his priorities and seeing the accident that claimed Simoncelli would have had an effect on him.
