Brinscall? WTF is a Brinscall? Find out on May 23rd apparently.

    Duncan is our leader.

    8:15 blast off.

    Bring money for beer etc.

Hopefully somebody will be along soon with a pub name.

Is there even any point in suggesting likely attendance…? We’ll see.

We looked at doing Brinscall last summer and for one reason or another it didnt happen. I think it was round about the time we did Abbey Village and the pub was shut. I think its quite common in that neck of the woods for the pubs to be closed on Monday nights.

Regardless, the riding will be good from there!

Yeah go on then even though it’s almost in the bloody lake district 🙂

Now that we’re almost into not needing lights time of year, when are we doing a Pendle Hill summit attempt?

I’d be happy to lead a Pendle route from Barley one Monday. Needs to be dry for a while to get the most out of the excellent singletrack descent down Ogden Clough.
[edit] may be a little cheeky 😉 [/edit]

Monday 6th June works for me to attempt to get to the top of Pendle (mountain) hill. After that I have some short visits to France to deal with.
There is plenty of light at the beginning of July still, so Monday 4th July might be a good alternative.
    Thoughts?

Routes sorted. If it stays dry it’ll be peachy. If not it has a couple of interesting points.

For anyone that doesn’t know, The Cricketers is half way up a steep(ish) hill. There isn’t a pub car park (I dont think) just street parking which is very poor so please be respectful of residents parking.

I don’t know Dunc’s route for tonight but i’d be surprised if we don’t finish at the bottom of this hill. So it would make sense to try and park down hill of the pub. That said the street parking might be easier right at the top of the hill…

I may well be out tonight but dont wait if i’m not there at 8.15…

The pub is also a Jenning’s pub and i do like their ales!

As it stands I’ll be there, but I’ve developed a bit of an annoying cough over the weekend so if that gets worse I’ll be staying in so don’t wait if I’m not there.

Think I’ll park on Dick Lane… just because.

Yes I can see why you would be attracted to parking there.

If there are any scousers in attendance they might want to park on the road coming up from Abbey Village. Its called Dole Lane…

you can follow the road round to abbey village its not double yellowed. just after the corner.

I won’t be out tonight. Due to incomprehensible Manchester School holidays meaning Liliy is off school, when pretty much no other schools are. Mind you, we did spend the morning at Phillips Park christening her new bike, now she’s moved up to 24″ wheels..

I’ve seen it daz, but I’m working on the basis that it will miss the area we are riding around. My reasoning is down to blind faith.
