Got a pair & dunno whether to sell 'em or keep 'em.

What are they good for? (presuming to use them for tyres rather than housing geraniums – before I get any smart arse replies)

I love them in the 2.35 guise. I use a Super Tacky up front and a Maxxpro out back. What are the ones you have?

everyone I know who prefers the garvity side of biking seems to use High Rollers – on the back I think

HaHa are they any good! they are probably the most bought bike tyre ever made, after tioga 2 for tenner jobs. so yes i reckon they are good.

    2.35 Maxxpro's
tbh I'm more of a big xc/nearly all mountain rider on a trek ex9.

They look a bit heavy & tbh I dunno if they'll even fit on my rims – 2.3 verticals are on ATM (can't be arsed to test 'em as I run tubeless), but I was told 2.4 mountainkings won't fit on the rear of my rig

I've gone tubless on my Fuel 9.8 with high rollers and at 30psi I loved grip I got on Saturday in Shropshire hills, previously I had them too high at 38psi with tubes and nearly threw them away as changed feel of the bike completely for me.

it can depend on what type you have – they come in many flavours – compound, ply, width and weight

they also suit a more aggressive riding style – you've got to really lean into the turns to get the best out of them

    EDIT: I use the 2.35 Maxxpros and I'd say they're more AM/FR than XC/AM, especially at ~850g

They are narrower than Verticals. I can't comment on their tubeless abilities, but they are excellent tyres, and I used Verticals for ages.

There are lighter tyres out there, but I certainly wouldn't get rid of them. They are fine for xc/all-mountain stuff, and rail corners and berms like glued to the trail.

I found the rear not very good at digging in. Tending to spin out when apply power on tecnical climbs. Changed for a minion rear which was much better.

2.35 Maxxpro tyres are actually 775g, according to Maxxis. The Super Tacky ones are 865g

    my 2.35" steel bead high-roller weighs 770g – pretty good i think.

it's v grippy, light, big and comfy. a bit draggy, but not too bad.

i use it as a front tyre, with a moto-digger on the back.

I like one on the front during the not very summer months. Does that help?

They are my default UK/Alps tyre – I never bother changing them (I run them on a Blur LT)..Having said that next year I think Im going to go for something fatter – maybe a 2.40 Nobby Nic or Racing Ralphs..

I run girly 2.1 exceptions 480g a tyre with stans and they're rather bloomin good for fast xc, bit sketchy in rocks but that's because they're low volume. The bigger versions are jolly nice as well.
