The name’s a kind of African spear, I’m guessing this is the Minnaar connection as they’re pretty much designed to be his ‘signature’ tyre.

Looks bloody expensive! Bet it’s got a car tyre price tag, I’ll start the guessing at £70?

Nah, Maxxis restructured their pricing a few months ago, be around £50 I reckon, same as everything else.

Greg Minaar’s done a video all about it over on Pinkbike and it’s the most “shut up and take my money” advert I’ve seen in a long time.

I’m totally sold, just waiting for the trail 2.5 to launch and I’ll have one.

Interested in this tyre and seems like it could be a good one for 29er enduro riding. Although in the video he seems to be saying that really for 95% of the time no other tyre would be needed right?

the PB article indicated that a DHF was slower rolling than a DHR II. Is that true? had always thought that the bigger central braking zone on the DHR for braking made it draggier?

Most people assume the DHR2 rolls slower than the DHF but I’d say the opposite is true – those solid braking blocks don’t deform like the central ones on a DHF, so reduced energy loss.

Interesting tyre this – side knobs based on the original High Roller, centre knobs a DHF/DHR2 mashup, knob height same as a Shorty plus some transition knobs. Vital say it’s the slowest rolling non-spike ever! Grippy though.

Pretty much all things to all men, the way he describes it. Although I suspect he sees a lot etter weather in general than I do,.

Look similar to the Kenda Hellkat and Vee Flow Snap. All three look interesting ‘enduro’ options that could potentially fill the gap between a Minion and a Shorty. Competition for the Magic Mary.
