How disappointed was I when I went to the cupboard this morning to get the Marmite only to remember it was in my desk drawer at work.

Now that is wierd.

Don’t clean your grill pan for a month, scrape the tarry residue into a jar – voila, Marmite! You may have guessed that I’m not a fan, shudder…

Lovely stuff.

Someone recently introduced me to marmite and peanut butter together on toast – slightly strange but quite good.

Marmite recipe:

Make beer on an industrial scale.

Throw beer away.

Scrape sludge from bottom of tank.

Voila! Marmite. Yummy!

Try marmite and jam.

No, really – it’s a taste sensation!

Going to have to buy some on the weekly shop tonight it seems, I may be in a “love marmite” phase.

Just one thing; don’t bother getting the silver lid…. it gets stuck and you can’t get into the jar! Disaster!!!

Last year for Valentine’s Day there was a limited edition with Champagne.

It had a subtlety different flavour but was still Marmite.

Outrageous that Paddington Bear is being used – no, exploited – to promote it.

The Guinness one was better than that Champagne one.

that champagne marmite was horrible – and i like marmite! only managed to get through 2 slices of toast before i had to bin it.

try Marmite and Philadelphia cheese mixed on toasted bagels… (led an American friend astray!) 🙂

Marmite + PB + Jam is also good

Generally I reckon any combination of the above (and cheese spread too) is a pretty safe bet.
