I know Campagnolo/Fulcrum nipples are guided through the rim with a magnet and a magnetic insert.

What I’m after is knowing if the Campagnolo/Fulcrum insert fits a standart 2mm nipple or if anyone makes similar for a 2mm nipple. The stainless spokes I have are only very mildly magnetic so looking for something a bit stronger.

I enjoy the comedy responses but useful ones are also very welcome.

Sounds like a way to build a covert ebike motor to me.

    Are you getting into cyclocross?

I just want to feed some spokes into a sealed rim. No magnets will remain and no motors will be involved.

Unior Nipple Assembly Tool? Uses a spring rather than magnet to hold onto the nipple..

the Fulcrum mag kit will not fit into a normal nipple,
the threaded part is about 4mm in dia.

What about finding a steel spoke and cutting it down so a bit sticks out of the nipple, might need a small magnet to fit so it powerfull enough to “picked up” by the magnet outside the rim.

Thank MTB Rob, I had considered that. Now, can I find a ye olde steel spoke?

Seems Campag/Fulcrum do a number of sizes of that tool. Wasn’t sure if any of the fitted a normal spoke nipple.

Pretty sure “stainless” spokes are still magnetic.

Only slightly. The neodymium magnets I had to wrestle from the side of TH fridge only gently pull on a stainless spoke. Not enough really.

sembly Tool? Uses a spring rather than magnet to hold onto the nipple..

That’s just for a normal rim – I think the OP is after something he can use to drop a nipple into the valve hole on a UST-style rim, then walk it round to the spoke hole.

Use a piece of cotton thread and a vacuum cleaner……

    Vacuum cleaner? Does that work?
