This surely marks the end of winter? In from work around 1830, quick change, grab cross bike and head up the hill in sunshine. Ace 🙂

God of cycling be praised, hallelujah! Raise your hands unto the Lord and place them upon the handlebars. Go forth amongst the mud and the roots and cast your eyes skywards to the sun.

I only saw 2 other riders, heading the opposite way along George’s Lane to me. Cracking evening (ignoring the freezing wind at the pike)

Tomorrow night looks like my lads pub ride will become a dad’s ride with LittleMissMC and one of her friends. Sure the pub will do soft drinks and crisps while I have a pie and a pint.

Not quite, mornings still too cold to remove the facial hair. Summer is here when I go out clean shaved (on the face, legs always hairy).

For you maybe but my evening rides don’t start getting light until June and end in July 🙁 But I don’t set out until after work at 9pm.

Got out on Tuesday, managed a quick 15 miles and in before I needed to turn a light on. Then the bike didn’t even need clean! Love it….
Trying again tonight (and I’ve got 2 kids, the wife and I take turns to sort them out in the evening, last night she went to the gym, I did kids and dinner)

Was a belter. Tyres are shot, double puncture and the pads are worn to the metal but wasn’t heading home early on such a nice evening!

Were you riding along Georges Lanes past the kennels last night OP? Think we passed one another.

    Glorious evening…

Commuter is still in winter mode (guards and Marathon Pluses) so I stuck to the road, but a lovely scenic route home nonetheless.

Brilliant isn’t it, lighter evenings and trails drying up nicely. Just need a bit more warmth for rides to finish in the pub beer garden.

My lights are still in the car from last Wednesday’s after work ride, never turned them on.

Unless you mean this as a consecutive action, I am having a hard time picturing the consequent posture.

    Left work a little early.

    26 mile offroad commute home.

It was like an extra mini weekend, midweek 🙂

Now I’ve got to ride back…didn’t sort a front light, still dark 🙁 Might be a bit late back to work!

    Certainly looked like Hopwas jekkyl.
Despite being a few miles away, Its not somewhere I’ve ridden other than passing through. Always thought it a bit boggy.

The video makes it look very attractive indeed. I may have to take a drive out. Could do with a gpx for a 15 mile(ish) route James if you have one? ta.

thanks for the nice comments jekkyl. It is indeed Hopwas, staffs. next to Tamworth. It does get boggy over the winter but it’ll be fine now until next winter.

In regards to GPX routes. you can do a number of XC routes from hopwas using local bridleways going away and then back to hopwas woods (i’ll grab one and stick it up for you). But all the trails in wood itself are in a very condensed area. So once you have found one trail you have basically found them all. so a gpx route for just hopwas woods is near impossible to follow as everything is just on top of everything else. if that makes any sense? lol
