I have a standard “Bastid” light on my E-MTB for night biking. It is fed via a cable from the motor and throws a flood from the bars, For a sub £20 light unit I can’t ask for anything more, and I ride with an identical, although a bit more “spotty” unit on my helmet, and for off-road in the woods, perfect.

I commute by ebike with a Bosch mid-drive. Currently I use a B&M Ixon IQ Premium, which is 80Lux and uses 4AA rechargeable batteries. They charge in the unit, but I do have to remember to take it off the bike, bring it in  and charge it, and then CRUCIALLY, take it back out… It is OK but I could do with a bit more light throw. My commute includes pitch black tree lined unlit old railway line. It is very dark.

I am going to fit a wired in STVZO light. The Lezyne ones look good, but I cant work out the subtleties of the power/light throw.

    E115 – 310 Lumen / 115 Lux – draws 8W

    E500 – 500 Lumen /Lux undisclosed – draws 7W (?) Less power, more lumen?

    E550 – 550 Lumen /Lux undisclosed – draws 9W

    Then there is the new E600 – 600/820 Lumen / 100 Lux – draws 8 to 13 W

These must use similar light geometries, why the variation? It is  long shot, but has anyone used any that they can compare/recommend? TIA
