This is the one of (the first?) books about Lance Armstrongs doping but it was (I think) only published in France (back in around 2004/5)

I’ve read several books on this subject and I’ve never read this one – I’ve just finished reading David Walsh’s other book (Seven Deadly Sins).

Anyway, I’m curious about LA Confidentiel but I don’t speak/understand French. So does anyone know (a) if it was ever published in English and/or (b) whether there are any revelations that haven’t been flushed out since the USADA report and subsequent banning/annulment of his race results by the UCI in 2012?

Pretty sure it’s only in French.  I’m sure it was a bombshell at the time but I doubt there’s any real revelations in there any longer – Lance and his nasty back story was outed a long time ago.

I don’t think it was ever officially translated into English. It mostly relies on the testimony of Emma O’Reilly, and most of the allegations in the book are covered in the 2012 USADA report.

Thanks – I won’t bother trying to find an English language copy then!

James Ellroy is a master wordsmith, the LA trilogy is a full on look at the underworld of the US along with the government/CIA/FBI.
    (not a Lance Armstrong trilogy)

Don’t think it will be a patch on any Lance Armstrong book.
