    Anyone used a kitchen design software package ? I wouldn’t mind creating a design for my new kitchen. I have used solidworks so am fairly knowledgeable on design software.

    Ikea have their own online builder.

    Would like to incorporate some changes to the room layout also

    Ikea’s tool is pretty good at allowign you to define the room dimensions, play with designs and pan around to have a look at them.

    I used it to try out about 10 different designs with mine before taking the final one to the actual company we used to do it.

    I’ve done a couple using SketchUp – fine for space planning, a bit more work for snazzy graphics & lighting.

    draw it in solid works then.

    failing that you cannot beat the old pencil and scale rule.

    Well I have tried to use the ikea software but it doesn’t support the room shape I have. Any other software suggestions out there folks ???

    Google sketch up, easy to use and a great 3D programme.

    Both guys who gave us a design for our kitchen used sketchup.
