I’m not a fan of what he produces but I’d agree with his status as electronic music pioneer.

For a moment there I was expecting to read that he’d died.

I remember watching the Houston Rendezvous concert on telly when I was a kid and subsequently blagged a Casio keyboard from my parents convincing them I’d be doing that when I was older. I did get Grade 2 piano though.

I think JMJ’s brill. Rendezvous was nearly 30 years ago (1986 just after Challenger and was meant to involve one of the astronauts that perished)

I love Jean Michelle’s stuff but the real pioneers (IMO) were http://www.tangerinedream.org/ Who were around a while before. I had an album called Stratosfear which was awesome!

    Kraftwerk.
Think most artists of that ilk learnt a lot from them.

He got me into electronic music at a very young age, I really need to revisit his stuff.

I see your JMJ Oxygene electronic pioneer card, and raise you Ron Grainer & Delia Derbyshire with the original Dr Who theme of 1963.

Saw him in Paris a few years ago. Other than the ridiculous dyed hair and rock star “walking to the stage through the crown” entrance, he was really good.
