Went on a (mainly road) ride on the Ripmo to get a feel for the lighter wheelset/Barzo’s. Managed 46 miles (furthest I’ve been for ages) in a loop that took me up to the Blackdown Hills & back. Cracking weather on Saturday, (Sunday was stormy).
@poah, I used to hate riding through the Clyde Tunnel. Looks better light/brighter now than I remember.
@didnthurt, was that Friday? Saturday was similar but a bit cloudier with a couple of very light showers. Unusual mix of bikes on the climb with a gravel event on at the same time. Called it a day around 3ish as I was knackered after 36km/1600mtrs. Drove through heavy rain north of Peebles for a while, so a good call!
Found a little spot in the sun on Sunday afternoon where I could enjoy listening to a local folk group. It managed to take my mind off the truly awful climb back up towards Carron reservoir….for a little while at least.
@poah yeah, Friday afternoon. I’m not sure I’d want to pay to ride the gravel climbs at the Golfie, without even a chance to ride the trails. To each their own though.
