Threads like this help me understand otherwise mind boggling stupidity, thank you.

OP it’s a nice story and not worthy of the grammar Nazi’s.

Yeah man! Actually it’s a road that leads off the North Downs down a steep Ish hill to a cross roads, so not likely any roadies would be on it. Doesn’t change the fact that I’ve got two KOMs on Tarmac on me mtb! 8)

What about a no handed pass? Perhaps playing a trumpet or what have you to show that you don’t need to breathe much to ride past the guy riding the moped and his son.

    By coincidence…

Quick summary…. he gets up the hill about twice as quick on a motorbike. Which I guess will be a surprise to no one. I’m not really sure why he bothered or that it even merits an article.

It was a bit of fun, the roadie acknowledged it as a laugh

Roadie with a sense of humour. Clearly, rare.

Confession time now. I will admit to occasionally riding into Windsor on a girl’s sit up and beg three speed Dutch bike (super piece of kit, perfect for shopping errands). I like nothing more than to sit on the wheel of the numerous roadies heading for the town for their coffee stop, sometimes in a group. They do seem to be a little surprised when unable to shake me.

Not all roadies always ride road bikes 😈

The roadie could be in the middle of a century ride.

Great that a 77 year old is still peddling though and for me that’s the perfect scenario highlighting good use of an e-bike. Older person still wants to get out and have fun.
